○怡顔斎いわく、まったく虎尾と同じである。ただし、枝に曲折があり、枝に連なりながら末端にいたるにつれ、花がまばらについている。一枝の間において断続的であり、一か所に群がらない。泰山と虎尾は本来一種のものが分かれたものである。
○活所翁の「桜譜」にいわく、千弁（せんよう）であって、やや赤く、大輪で紅梅のようである。葉はまれにつく。
○鈍永いわく、泰山府君（たいさんぶくん）は「源平盛衰記（げんぺいせいすいき）」に〔記載があり……〕

○Itangansai states: It is entirely the same as Toranoo. However, the branches have curves and bends, and as one follows the branch toward its tip, the flowers are sparsely attached. Along a single branch they are intermittent and do not cluster together in one place. Taizan and Toranoo are in fact one variety that has diverged into two.
○The "Cherry Catalogue" (*Sakura-fu*) of the elder Kassho states: It has a thousand petals (*senyō*), is slightly reddish, has large blooms resembling those of the red plum (*kōbai*), and leaves are only rarely present.
