○Donei states: It bears large, double blossoms (*yaezaki*). However, the phrase "Toyama no sakura sakini keri" ("The cherries of the outer mountain have bloomed") as it appears in waka poetry refers simply to the cherry blossoms of a distant or unfamiliar mountain. What is illustrated here, by contrast, is a specific cultivated variety (called *Toyama-zakura*).
