現代語訳
【右丁】
○鈍永いわく、八重咲きで大輪である。特に大きなものは直径二寸余り（約6cm以上）もある。花弁は広く薄く、茎は細く長い。しべは短い。色は楊貴妃桜と同じく、ほんのりと赤みを帯びていることから「暁（あかつき）」と名づけた。また「明星桜（みょうじょうざくら）」とも呼ぶ。

○怡顔斎いわく、千弁（せんべん）咲きで、五、六輪が一箇所に密集して咲く。花はあまり張らず（開き切らず）、茎は長く垂れる。色は赤い。花の中のしべはわずかに一筋か二筋で、茶の新芽のような巻き葉が五、六分（約1.5〜2cm）の長さの青い芽を二、三個（つける）。

○Donei states: The blossoms are double (*yaezaki*) and large-flowered. The largest specimens measure over two *sun* (approximately 6 cm) in diameter. The petals are broad and thin; the stems are slender and long; the stamens are short. The color, being a gentle, faint red, resembles that of the *Yōkihi-zakura*, and it is on account of this blush that the variety is called *Akatsuki* ("Dawn"). It is also known as *Myōjō-zakura* ("Morning Star Cherry").

○Itogansai states: The blossoms are of a thousand petals (*senben*), with five or six florets clustered densely together in one place. The flowers do not open very broadly, the stems are long and pendulous, and the color is red. Within the flower, the stamens number only one or two filaments, resembling the young unfurling shoot of a tea plant. Rolled leaves (*makiba*) measuring five to six *bu* (approximately 1.5–2 cm) in length appear as two or three bluish-green buds.
