者もなかりしに太夫行春壱人跡をしたひ
武蔵の国に来リ此国の原にて御身生レ給ふ
其時大夫ハ水を求めに行けるか三日見ゑさる
所ニ我をこひ給ひし下野の国主源玄官公
駿河国主になり給ひ登らせ給ふとて我を
見つけ給ふ此玄官公にいさなハれ今は
駿河の国横内と言所ニ目出とう暮し有そかし
我を恋しくおもふなら夜も明ケて候ハゝ長者

愛し奉るのも一つは太夫の情け深いゆえです。それに付け、昨夜不思議な夢のお告げを受けました。夢物語をいたしましょう。思い当たることがございます。物語をなさるべき年頃、十六歳ほどの美しい女性で、その様子は気高く美しく、私の枕元に立ち寄られ、後れ髪をかきなでて「いかがですか、姫よ、私を誰だと思われますか。下野国五万長者のひとり娘、あなたにとっては母である。そもそも不快な態度をとったことにより父母の勘気を被り、仙丹という馬に乗せられて追い出されました。誰一人として情けをかけてくれる者もいませんでしたが、太夫行春一人が後を慕い、武蔵国に来て、この国の原であなたが生まれになりました。その時太夫は水を求めに行きましたが、三日間姿が見えませんでした。そこで私を恋い慕っていらした下野国主源玄官公が駿河国主におなりになって上られる時に、私を見つけになりました。この玄官公に誘われて、今は駿河国横内という所で、めでたく暮らしております。私を恋しく思うなら、夜も明けましたなら、長者

I shall tell you this dream story, as something has occurred to me. A woman of storytelling age, about sixteen years old, noble and beautiful in appearance, approached my pillow and stroked her trailing hair, saying: "How are you, Princess? Who do you think I am?
