現代語訳
蟹は病気も本復して、もとかく口惜しく思い、仕返しをしたく、友達を呼び集め相談すれば、「それなら猿を呼ぶがよかろう」。
囲炉裏の側へ寄ると、栗と卵が跳ね出し、火傷をして、糠味噌へ手を突っ込むと、針が入っていて、肝を潰して逃げる所を、牛の糞と海藻で滑らせ、そこへ臼が飛んで来て落ち、杵で頭を張り倒す。
ここを敷いて拘束してと、本蔵も由良之介も、そっちへ行けと、掴みどころもない話ばかりである。
一杯食べたら無性に小便がしたい。
