ならひて六間三間の際に頭と手とたゝ三ツ所せき迠にゑかき
たり尾紀両《見せ消ち：藻｜藩カ》の士其外諸侯の家士江戸の町々品川辺の
ものまて月まふてす成人の名なんとしるして拝殿にかけ
僕かけふ初めてまふて侍るを月ことに参るもありけりと
驚かれはへり広前にぬかつきて門を出東に向て少しゆけは
北に岩槻慈恩寺道あり行〳〵て刀祢堤の上にのほるこゝに
左り正一位半田稲荷大明神と彫付たる石の牓示あり
堤の上を左に行は松戸へ出といふ堤の上を南行すること
少し斗にて札の辻に出るこゝにて西の方へ堤を下りてゆけ
は新宿へ出る猶堤の上を南行する事二丁斗にて
香取の社堤の東側刀祢の岸にありこゝの岸に出て北望すれは
松戸の辺遥に見渡さる実に一里斗りもあるへし江戸は
五月十九日より雨ふらねど此川は水干落るとも見えす
青みうつまきて流るゝは水上は雨なきにもあらしと思はる
そこより半里程行は堤の西側に江戸道とほり付たる石を
建こゝより江戸の方へ堤を下りゆくこと二三丁にして道の

現代語訳
牧渓の画風に倣って、六間三間の空間に頭と手のたった三箇所だけを描いている。紀州藩と尾張藩の武士、その他の諸侯の家臣、江戸の町々や品川辺りの人々まで、月参りをする成人の名前などを記して拝殿に掛けてある。私が今日初めて参拝したところ、毎月参拝する人もいるのだと驚かれた。広前にひざまずいてから門を出て、東に向かって少し行くと、北に岩槻慈恩寺道がある。歩いて行って刀祢堤の上に登る。ここに左側に「正一位半田稲荷大明神」と彫り付けた石の標示がある。
堤の上を左に行けば松戸へ出るという。堤の上を南に行くこと少しばかりで札の辻に出る。ここで西の方へ堤を下りて行けば新宿へ出る。なお堤の上を南に行くこと二町ほどで、香取の社が堤の東側、刀祢の岸にある。ここの岸に出て北を望むと、松戸の辺りが遥かに見渡される。実に一里ほどもあるだろう。江戸は五月十九日より雨が降らないが、この川は水が干上がるとも見えず、青々と澄んで流れているのは、水源では雨が降っているのだろうと思われる。
そこから半里ほど行くと、堤の西側に「江戸道」と書かれた石が建っている。ここから江戸の方へ堤を下って行くこと二、三町で、道の南側に帝釈天が立っておられる経栄山題経寺という堂がある。大きさは六間ほど

Following the style of Muqi's paintings, only three parts - the head and hands - are painted in the six ken by three ken space. The names of adult worshippers are written and hung in the worship hall, including samurai from Kii and Owari domains, retainers of other feudal lords, and people from various districts of Edo and the Shinagawa area who make monthly pilgrimages. When I mentioned that this was my first visit today, they expressed surprise, saying some people come every month. After prostrating myself before the altar, I left through the gate and walked east a little, where I found the Iwatsuki Jion-ji temple road to the north. Walking along, I climbed up onto Tone Embankment. Here on the left side stands a stone marker carved with "Senior First Rank Handa Inari Daimyōjin."
They say if you go left along the top of the embankment, you'll reach Matsudo. Going south along the embankment for just a short distance, you reach Fuda-no-tsuji intersection. Here, if you descend the embankment westward, you'll reach Shinjuku. Continuing south along the embankment for about two chō, there is Katori Shrine on the eastern side of the embankment, on the bank of the Tone River. Coming out to this bank and looking north, the Matsudo area can be seen stretching into the distance - it must be about one ri away. Though no rain has fallen in Edo since the 19th of the fifth month, this river shows no signs of running dry and flows blue and clear, suggesting it must be raining upstream.
Going about half a ri from there, a stone marker reading "Edo Road" stands on the western side of the embankment. Descending the embankment toward Edo from here for two or three chō, on the south side of the road stands Kyōeisan Daikyō-ji temple where Taishaku-ten is enshrined. The hall is about six ken in size.
