にはさま〳〵の子おもひくはたつるものも有けり江戸にあると

には様々の子思い企てるものもあった。江戸にあるとあらゆる両替商より日ごとに三銭ずつを出させ（金一両に対し七千文の相場にして永三文、今の銭二十一文程だという）、それを年々に半分を上に奉り、半分を積み置き、それをもって御城内曲輪の堀の定期浚渫をするべきよし、近頃聞し召し上げるものがあり、このことは必ず成るであろうなどという。また松平安芸守殿には四年前七万両の御手伝いを勤められた。然るにまた今年、信州甲州川々修築の費用でまた七万両の御手伝いを命じられる。よってその家がやや窮状を訴えている。我は甲斐の家にゆかりのある者などと問わず語りをなすのは、この頃の世の姿を後も思い出るためしを書き付ける。また昨日今日ことに冷やかに過ごしたのは、笛吹、松井田、甲州の辺り、遠州、豆州などに雪に霰に降り積もったゆえだと後に聞いた。ことに日光山には三尺ほども雪が積もるという。よって冷やかであったのだった。
