触れるべく候以上
八月

近年世の中の情勢につれて日雇い稼ぎを
している者どもの賃銭が高値になっている様子で、
諸役所において雇っている日雇い
のことについて、先年触れた賃銭を支払うのに
支障があるとの趣旨を聞いている。これにより今度
町へ派遣している小林藤左衛門に日雇い
方の取り扱いを申し付け、右の配下として
鉾持村の善左衛門、袋町の丑松に
日雇い頭を申し付けた。右の藤左衛門をはじめ
配下の者が触れ回り次第、諸方面で日
雇いに支障がないようにすること。今後日
雇い稼ぎを始める者は藤左衛門のもと
へ出向いて詳細を承り、滞りなく勤めるべし。
万一心得違いの者があれば、
その所の役人に藤左衛門の
ところから掛け合いがあるので、あらかじめ心
得ておき、小前の末々まで漏れのないよう
申し渡すべし。

In recent years, due to the state of the world, the wages of day laborers have become expensive. Regarding day laborers employed by various government offices, we have heard that there are difficulties in paying the wages that were announced in previous years. Therefore, this time we have appointed Kobayashi Tōzaemon, who has been sent to the town, to handle day labor matters. As his subordinates, we have appointed Zensaemon of Hokoji Village and Ushimatsu of Fukuro-machi as day labor supervisors. Once Tōzaemon and his subordinates make their announcements, all sectors should ensure there are no problems with day laborers. Henceforth, those who wish to begin day labor work must go to Tōzaemon's place, receive detailed instructions, and perform their duties without delay. Should there be anyone who misunderstands their duties, Tōzaemon's office will negotiate with the officials of that area, so this should be kept in mind beforehand and communicated without omission down to the lowest-ranking people.
