同年四月二十五日、越後高田にて酉の刻より丑の刻まで三十余度震い、山崩れて死人一万六千余人。
○百二十一代・仁孝帝・文政五年・壬午・六月十二日、京都・大阪地震す。
同十三年・庚寅・七月二日、京都大地震。今年嘉永七年・寅年まで二十五年になる。人々の知る処なれば、これを略す。

**Chronicle of Great Earthquakes in Our Land (Continued)**
○ Reign of Emperor Momozono, the hundred-and-seventeenth sovereign, Hōreki 1st year, Year of the Sheep (*Kanoto-Hitsuji*), 2nd month, 29th day — a great earthquake struck Kyoto, with tremors continuing until the 7th month.
On the 25th day of the 4th month of the same year, in Takada, Echigo Province, the earth shook more than thirty times between the Hour of the Rooster and the Hour of the Ox. Mountains collapsed, and more than sixteen thousand people perished.
○ Reign of Emperor Ninkō, the hundred-and-twenty-first sovereign, Bunsei 5th year, Year of the Horse (*Mizunoe-Uma*), 6th month, 12th day — earthquakes struck Kyoto and Osaka.
Same reign, 13th year, Year of the Tiger (*Kanoe-Tora*), 7th month, 2nd day — a great earthquake struck Kyoto. As it has now been twenty-five years from that year to this present year of Kaei 7 (*Kinoe-Tora*), and the events are within living memory of the people, the account is here abbreviated.
On the 24th day of the 3rd month of Kōka 4th year, a great earthquake struck Zenkōji, with many deaths. Further details are recorded in the *Yume Monogatari* ("Dream Tale").
