【右丁】
●一 元禄十年（1697）丑年四月、金銀の吹き直しに伴い、古い金銀は新金銀と改めて引き替えるべきこと、来年寅年三月以降は古い金銀の通用を停止する旨の御触。
●一 同年六月、このたび新金で二朱判が作られた旨。なお、大判・小判・一分判はこれまで通り通用させるべき旨の御触。
一 同十四年（1701）巳年五月二十日 近ごろ酒に酔う者がやや見受けられるので、人々は慎み、酒に深酔いしないよう、町中の名主・五人組が常々厳しく申し付けるべきこと。江戸町中への御触。
一 同年八月十八日 覚
一 御礼日およびその他の出仕の際には、作法をよくわきまえて慎み、定められた席以外へみだりに立ち入らないこと。 一 出仕の時分には、百人組および中之御門の御番所へは、やむを得ない場合を除き立ち寄らないこと。 一 刀・脇差・小刀は長くないものを拵えるなど、目立たないようにすること。その他、衣服等についても同様に目立たないようにすること。 一 以前に書付を出した通り、供の者を多く連れないようにすること。 一 陪臣の者どもが供の人数を多く連れているとのことなので、いっそう少人数で召し連れるよう申し付けるべきこと。以上 八月某日

◦ 以前より酒をみだりに飲まないよう触れてきたところ、近年は穀物（八木）が払底しているため、婚礼またはお立ち（旅立ち）の祝儀以外では、縁起事があっても酒を出すことを停止とすべきである。したがって、祝儀のやりとりにおいても酒は無用とし、樽代を用いるべきものとする。 十月
一 同十五年（1702）午年五月九日、秋元但馬守殿のところで御留守居一同へ御渡し 覚 御法度帳にて校合済み
一 総じて馬に荷を付ける際は、その馬の様子によって荷物の分量を考慮し、馬が難儀しないよう軽く付けるべきこと。また、道中で荷を付けた馬の定められた貫目を正確に守り、念を入れて重い荷を付けないこと。 一 病馬および傷のある馬はよく労り、そのような馬は使わないこと。ただし、右のような馬を無理に使う者は、以前に触れた通り訴え出るべきこと。右の趣旨を守るべきであり、もし違背する者があれば曲事とする。 午年五月 町・在々へ申し付けるべき旨として、支配人中へ写し一通ずつ渡された。
一 同年十月十六日、土屋相模守殿のお宅にて御留守居一同へ御渡し 覚 同断（前と同様に御法度帳にて校合済み）
●◦ 諸人が仁愛の心を持つようにとの御上のご意向から、常々生類憐みの儀について度々仰せ出されてきたところ、このたび橋本権之助が犬を傷つけたことを不届きと思し召され、死罪を仰せ付けられた。いっそう人々が仁愛の心を持つようになるよう、大身・小身ともにこれを守り、末々の者まで厳しく申し含めるべきである。 午年十月
右については御家中へ触れるよう目付中より仰せ渡され、町・在々へも申し付けるべき旨、支配人中へ申し聞かされた。
◦ このたび江戸において御老中より、別紙御書付の通り仰せ渡されたので、右御書付の趣旨を守るべき旨仰せ出された。以上

● Item 1: Fourth month of Genroku 10 (1697, Year of the Ox). On the occasion of the recoining of gold and silver: old gold and silver coins are to be exchanged for new ones. From the third month of the coming Year of the Tiger, old gold and silver coins will cease to be accepted as legal tender. Official directive.
● Item 2: Sixth month of the same year. New gold two-shu coins (二朱判) have now been minted. The ōban, koban, and ichibu coins are to continue to circulate as before. Official directive.
Item 3: Fifth month, 20th day of Genroku 14 (1701, Year of the Snake). As persons drunk on sake have been somewhat in evidence of late, all people should conduct themselves with restraint and avoid becoming heavily intoxicated. The nanushi (village/ward headmen) and five-household groups (五人組) throughout the town are to issue strict and constant instructions to this effect. Directive for the towns of Edo.
Item 4: Eighth month, 18th day of the same year. Memorandum:
Item: On days of formal salutation (御礼日) and on other occasions of attendance at the castle, one must conduct oneself with proper decorum and must not wander into areas beyond one's designated seating. Item: During attendance hours, one must not stop at the guardhouses of the Hundred-man Unit (百人組) or the Naka-no-Gomon gate, except in unavoidable circumstances. Item: Swords, side swords, and short swords are to be fitted so as not to be conspicuously long. Similarly, clothing and other apparel should also be kept unobtrusive. Item: As previously instructed in a written notice, one must not bring a large number of attendants. Item: It has been heard that the retainers of retainers (陪臣) are bringing a large number of attendants; they are to be instructed to bring only a small number. The foregoing. Item 5: Tenth month, 20th day of the same year. Directive for the towns. Memorandum:
◦ Although a directive was previously issued prohibiting excessive drinking of sake, since grain (八木) has become scarce in recent years, the serving of sake at any occasion other than wedding celebrations or send-off parties (お立ち) is hereby prohibited, even if it is a celebratory event. Accordingly, sake is to be dispensed with even in the exchange of gifts for celebrations, and the monetary equivalent of a cask of sake (樽代) shall be used instead. Tenth month.
Item 6: Fifth month, 9th day of Genroku 15 (1702, Year of the Horse). Delivered to the resident representatives (御留守居) at the residence of Lord Akimoto Tajima-no-Kami. Memorandum. Verified against the law register (御法度帳).
Item: In general, when loading cargo onto horses, one must take into account the condition of the horse and the quantity of goods so as not to cause the horse undue hardship, keeping the load light. Furthermore, care must be taken to strictly observe the prescribed weight limits for pack horses on the road, and heavy loads must not be applied. Item: Sick horses and injured horses are to be treated with due care, and such horses must not be put to use. However, those who are found to have forced such horses to work must be reported, as previously instructed. These provisions are to be observed; anyone found to be in violation will be subject to punishment. Fifth month, Year of the Horse. ●◦ As it has always been His Lordship's wish that all people should have hearts of benevolence and compassion, repeated edicts have been issued concerning the compassionate treatment of living creatures (生類憐みの令). On this occasion, Hashimoto Gonnosuke has been found guilty of the outrageous act of injuring a dog, and has been sentenced to death. So that people may all the more cultivate hearts of benevolence, all persons, whether of high or low rank, must observe these rules and ensure that they are firmly communicated to all those down to the lowest level. Tenth month, Year of the Horse.
Regarding the above, the inspectors (目付中) conveyed instructions that this be communicated to all within the domain's retainer band, and that it be notified to the towns and villages as well through the administrators.
◦ On this occasion, the Senior Councilors (御老中) in Edo have issued instructions as set forth in the attached written notice. Accordingly, it has been decreed that the contents of said notice be observed. The foregoing.
