覚 ー古本御式目ニ出ル
●◦捨子之儀御制禁ニ候仍之最前も養育於難成ハ奉公人ハ其主人御料ハ御代官私領ハ其村之
名主五人組町方ハ其所之名主五人組へ其品申出之於其品養育可仕旨相触候処今以粗致
捨子之段不届ニ候若致捨子候ハヽ可為曲事候弥捨子不仕候様ニ急度可被申付候以上 辰七月日
◦別紙之通大御目付中ゟ被仰渡候間面々可被得其意旨ニ候以上

●一菖蒲甲立物計はく置可申事
一鉢しころ何もすミぬりニ可仕候紋絵書候ハヽたん ごふん ろくしやうニ而少々彩色可有事
但織物類ニ而包申間敷事
一鑓長刀はく置申間敷候其外ぬり彩色甲同様之事
但人形類可為無用事
右献上之菖蒲甲たりといふ共此定より宜仕間敷候是ゟ麁相成ハ只今迄用来通たる
へく候以上 丑四月
右之通先達而町奉行へ申渡候間此通可被相心得候当年之儀ハ町方ゟ願之品も有之拵置候分者
商売仕筈ニ候誂候とてハ一切定之外ニハ不相成候尤来年ゟハ相触候通急度相守可申事
右五月廿三日御家老中へ相触之

●捨て子については禁制となっている。これに関して、以前にも養育が困難な場合には、奉公人はその主人へ、幕府領であれば代官へ、私領であればその村の名主・五人組へ、町方であればその町の名主・五人組へ、その事情を申し出れば養育の手配をする旨を触れ出したにもかかわらず、いまだに捨て子をする者がいるのは不届きである。もし捨て子をした場合は厳罰に処する。引き続き捨て子をしないよう、厳しく申し付けること。以上。 辰七月日
別紙の通り、大御目付中より仰せ渡されたので、各自よく心得るよう。以上。

**享保六丑年（1721年）**
覚
●一、菖蒲の兜・立物は白置き（金属を磨いてそのままにすること）とすること。
一、鉢・しころ（兜の首周りを守る部分）はすべて墨塗りとすること。紋や絵を描く場合は、たんぽぽ色（丹）・胡粉・緑青で少々彩色すること。
ただし、織物類で包んではならない。
一、槍・長刀は白置きにしてはならない。その他の塗り・彩色は兜と同様とすること。
ただし、人形類は用いてはならない。
以上の規定は、献上用の菖蒲兜であっても、この定めより良いものに仕立ててはならない。これより粗末になる場合は、これまで通りで構わない。以上。 丑四月
以上の通り、先に町奉行へ申し渡したので、この通り心得ること。当年については町方からの申請品もあり、すでに拵え置いた分については販売してよい。ただし、注文を受けての製作については、定め以外のものは一切認めない。もっとも、来年からは触れ出した通り、厳しく守ること。
右、五月二十三日、御家老中へ触れ出す。

**Genroku 13th Year, Year of the Dragon (1700)**
Memorandum (Referenced in the old Shikimoku manuscript)
● Regarding the abandonment of children, this practice is strictly prohibited. Previously, it was proclaimed that those unable to care for children should report the circumstances to the relevant authority — servants to their master, those in shogunal domains to the daikan (magistrate), those in private domains to the village headman (nanushi) and five-household group (gonin-gumi), and those in town areas to the town headman and five-household group — so that arrangements for the child's upbringing could be made. Nevertheless, cases of child abandonment continue to occur, which is most reprehensible. Anyone who abandons a child shall be severely punished. Ensure that child abandonment is strictly forbidden henceforth. The above. Seventh month, Year of the Dragon.
As per the attached document, this has been communicated by the Senior Inspectors (Ō-metsuke). All parties are to take heed. The above.

**Kyōhō 6th Year, Year of the Ox (1721)**
Memorandum
● One: The iris helmet (shōbu kabuto) and crest ornaments (tatemono) are to be finished in bare metal (hakuoki — polished and left uncoated).
One: The bowl and neck guard (hachi and shikoro) of the helmet are all to be finished in black lacquer. If family crests or designs are to be painted on, only minimal coloring using red ochre (tan), white lead powder (gofun), and malachite green (rokushō) is permitted.
However, they must not be wrapped in woven fabric.
One: Spears and naginata (glaives) must not be given a bare metal finish. Other lacquering and coloring shall follow the same rules as the helmets.
However, doll figures must not be used as decorations.
Even for iris helmets intended as gifts/tribute, they must not be made to a higher standard than these regulations permit. If they are made more simply than the standard, the previous practice shall be acceptable. The above. Fourth month, Year of the Ox.
As the above has already been communicated to the Town Magistrate (machi bugyō), all parties are to take heed accordingly. For the current year, since some items were already ordered and produced at the request of townspeople, these may be sold. However, no orders for items outside the regulations will be accepted whatsoever. From next year onwards, these rules must be strictly observed as proclaimed.
The above was communicated to the Senior Elders (go-karō-chū) on the 23rd day of the fifth month.
