〇近来面体を隠し候頭巾を拵途中ニ而かふり候者有之奉行所ゟ尋者ニ紛敷候間前々ゟ
有来候丸頭巾角頭巾之外一切かふり申間敷候右之趣寛保三亥年相触候処近頃
又々面体を隠し候異風成頭巾を拵かふり歩行候者有之段相聞不埒候此以後面体
を隠し候頭巾を拵かふり歩行候者有之屋敷々々ニ而も廻り之者見掛怪敷様子ニ候ハヽ頭
巾を取らセ相尋疑敷ものニ候ハヽ召捕届ニ不及町奉行へ可被相渡候尤咎違候分者

一諸大名参勤之節従者之員数不可及繁多之旨 御代々御条目ニも被仰出候然共在江戸中御番所火之番等被
仰付候ニ付而人数多被指出候仍之自今以後在江戸相応ニ大概人数之御定被仰出候事
一近年在江戸ニ而御用被仰候節下人之内へ雇人を指加勤させ候様相聞候向後右体之儀堅無用ニ候殊ニ今度
人数之儀被仰出候上ハ御定之通急度人数召置可申候若亦少々余り之人数有之候共指出申間敷候尤不相応之
場所者被仰付間敷候万一人数御用之時者勿論領内ゟ人数召寄御軍役之通堅可被相勤候事

〇大手御番所後御勘定所構之内腰掛并詰部屋之儀ハ御勘定所向供之者中可罷り在儀ニ候処近来外向
供之者陸尺等内々入込致混雑候趣相聞候如何成儀ニ候以来御用無之者并他之供廻り等立入不申様大手
御番ゟ相制候筈ニ候間其旨相心得主人〳〵ゟも急度可被申付候

一、安永四未年
○近頃顔を隠す頭巾を作って途中で被る者がいるが、奉行所からの尋ね者に紛らわしいので、以前からある丸頭巾・角頭巾以外は一切被ってはならない。この趣旨は寛保三亥年に触れたところであるが、近頃また顔を隠す異風な頭巾を作って被り歩く者がいると聞く。不埒である。この後、顔を隠す頭巾を作って被り歩く者がいれば、屋敷でも廻りの者が見かけて怪しい様子であれば頭巾を取らせて尋問し、疑わしい者であれば召し捕り、届出の必要はなく町奉行へ引き渡すこと。もっとも間違いの場合は構わない 午十二月

一、諸大名参勤の節、従者の員数が繁多に及ぶべからざる旨、御代々の御条目にも仰せ出されている。しかし在江戸中の御番所火の番等を仰せ付けられるにつき人数多く差し出している。よって今後は在江戸相応に大概の人数の御定めを仰せ出されること
一、近年在江戸で御用を仰せ付けられる節、下人の内へ雇人を加えて勤めさせていると聞く。今後そのようなことは堅く無用である。殊に今度人数のことが仰せ出された上は、御定め通り厳重に人数を召し置くべきである。たとえ少々余りの人数があっても差し出してはならない。もっとも不相応の場所は仰せ付けられまい。万一人数の御用の時はもちろん、領内から人数を召し寄せ御軍役の通り堅く相勤めること

○大手御番所後御勘定所構えの内の腰掛け並びに詰部屋の件は、御勘定所向きの供の者中が罷り在るべき件であるところ、近来外向きの供の者・陸尺等が内々入り込んで混雑している趣が聞こえる。いかがなることである。以後御用のない者並びに他の供回り等が立ち入らないよう大手御番から制することになっているので、その旨を心得、主人からも厳重に申し付けること

Hereafter, if there are those who make and wear head coverings that hide their faces while walking, even at residences, if patrol members notice suspicious behavior, they should remove the head covering and question them, and if they are suspicious persons, arrest them without need for notification and deliver them to the town magistrate. Memorandum
One, Regarding the number of retainers when various daimyo perform sankin duty not becoming excessive, this has been proclaimed in the regulations of successive generations. However, since guard duties at Edo guard posts and fire watch duties are assigned, many people are being dispatched. Therefore, from now on, general personnel limits appropriate for Edo residence are proclaimed.
One, In recent years, when official duties are assigned in Edo, it is heard that hired workers are added among the servants to perform duties. Hereafter such practices are strictly forbidden. Especially now that personnel matters have been proclaimed, the prescribed number of personnel must be strictly maintained. Even if there are slightly excess personnel, they must not be dispatched. Of course, inappropriate assignments will not be made. In the unlikely event of personnel being needed for official duties, personnel must naturally be summoned from the domain and duties performed strictly according to military service obligations.

○Regarding the waiting areas and duty rooms within the compound behind the Otemon guard post and the accounting office: these are places where retainers of the accounting office should be present, but recently it is heard that outside retainers, porters, etc. are privately entering and causing confusion. This is problematic. Hereafter, those without official business and other retinues should be prevented from entering by the Otemon guards, so this should be understood and masters should also give strict instructions.
