商に十の次に二を立てる。さて下方の十を三倍にして三十と置く。一位下げてまた法にて下方の三十に商の十を掛ける。一×三の三十と法に置く。またこの三十の次において下方の三十に商の二を掛ける。二×三の六と置く。また法の三十より一十と数え上がって法の三十に商の一だけを掛ける。二×三の六百と置く。また法の六より一十と上がって法の六に商の二を掛ける。一×六の百二十と置く時、七百三十になる。これを実にて引く→残り八坪ある。これをば角に引く。まず法にて商の二を法にも二と置く。さて法の二に商の二を掛ければ二×二の四と法に置く。またこれに商の二を二乗掛ければ二×四の八坪となる。これを実にて引き払い申すなり。

Count up ten from the 30 in the method and multiply the 30 in the method by only 1 from the quotient. Place 2×3=600. Count up ten from the 6 in the method and multiply the 6 in the method by 2 from the quotient. When placing 1×6=120, it becomes 730. Subtract this from the actual number → 8 tsubo remain. This remainder is subtracted as a square. First, in the method, place 2 from the quotient as 2 in the method as well. Then multiply 2 in the method by 2 from the quotient to get 2×2=4, place in the method. Multiply this by 2 squared from the quotient to get 2×4=8 tsubo. This is subtracted and cleared from the actual number.
