秀康公御代慶長六辛丑年被召出
● 小島与五右衛門諱不知《割書：本国参河 生国不知｜姓不知》
朝鮮陣之時分 秀康公肥前名護屋ノ御宿陣ニテ被召出
御目見仕候由申伝候 忠直公御代大坂両年ノ御陣御供
仕候其後於 当御城瓦御門番相勤候節 高田様潜ニ関
東エ御立退可被遊哉之雑説有之砌御門出入之儀稠敷相
改可申之旨被 仰付堅相守候故 忠直公応 御意候ヘ
共御左迁以後右之品ニ付 高田姫君様ノ御心ニ不捌依
之御暇被下駿府エ罷越候処 駿河様ニ被指置病死仕候
嫡子小島頓八儀ハ 秀康公御代慶長八癸卯年別格ニ被
召出相勤罷有大坂御陣ノ節モ父与五右衛門一所ニ相勤
候処以後病死仕嫡家断絶仕候

秀康公の御代 慶長六年辛丑年（1601年）に召し出された
● 小島与五右衛門（諱不明）《本国三河 生国不明 姓不明》
朝鮮出兵の時、秀康公が肥前名護屋の御宿陣にて召し出され、
お目見えしたと申し伝えられている。忠直公の御代、大坂両度の
陣にお供した。その後、当城（福井城）の瓦御門番を勤めていた時、
高田様（忠直）が密かに関東へ立ち退かれるという噂があった際、
門の出入りを厳重に調べるよう仰せ付けられ、堅く守っていたため
忠直公の御意に叶った。しかし忠直公の左遷後、この件について
高田姫君様の御心に適わず、そのため御暇を頂いて駿府へ向かった
ところ、駿河様に仕えることとなり病死した。
嫡子小島頓八は秀康公の御代 慶長八年癸卯年（1603年）に別格で
召し出され勤めており、大坂の陣の時も父与五右衛門と一緒に勤めた
が、その後病死し、嫡家は断絶した。

During Lord Hideyasu's reign, summoned in Keichō 6th year, kanoto-ushi (1601)

During the Korean campaign, he was summoned at Lord Hideyasu's military quarters
in Nagoya, Hizen, and had an audience with him, as has been passed down. During
Lord Tadayoshi's reign, he accompanied him to both Osaka campaigns. Later, while
serving as gatekeeper at Kawara Gate of the current castle, there were rumors that
Lord Takada (Tadayoshi) might secretly withdraw to the Kantō region. He was ordered
to strictly inspect those entering and leaving the gate, which he faithfully carried
out, thus earning Lord Tadayoshi's approval. However, after Lord Tadayoshi's exile,
due to this matter, he fell out of favor with Princess Takada, and was therefore
dismissed. He went to Sunpu, where he was placed in service under Lord Suruga and
died of illness.
His eldest son Kojima Tonpachi was specially summoned during Lord Hideyasu's reign
in Keichō 8th year, mizunoto-u (1603), and served in that capacity. During the Osaka
campaigns, he served together with his father Yogorōemon, but later died of illness,
and the main family line was discontinued.
