During Lord Hideyasu's reign, in the 8th year of Keicho, year of the Water Rabbit (1603)
Summoned:
● Takada Tōtōmi Ichiei《Note: Original province Settsu, Birth province Ōmi|Surname Sugawara, Original name Kozaemon》
During the time of Lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi, he served Masuda Uemon-no-jō, lord of Yamato Kōriyama Castle, and at that
time his stipend was said to be 10,000 koku. During the Battle of Sekigahara, although Masuda Uemon was on Ishida's
side, he did not go to the battlefield himself but sent Takada Tōtōmi as his deputy general leading troops
to battle. When the rebel forces were destroyed, Uemon-no-jō was granted clemency and retired to Mount Kōya.
At that time, Lord Honda Sado-no-kami and Lord Ii Hyōbu-shōyū issued instructions that Takada
Tōtōmi should sever ties with Uemon-no-jō's faction, as this was the shogun's will. Accordingly,
he escorted Uemon-no-jō to the foot of Mount Kōya, then went to Kōriyama to
hand over the castle, settled Uemon-no-jō's wife and children in their respective places, and was staying in Kyoto
when, following instructions from Lord Honda Sado-no-kami and Lord Ii Hyōbu-shōyū, in the first month of Keicho 8
he was summoned by Lord Hideyasu. At that time, he requested and received a letter from Lord Honda Sado-no-kami
addressed to the senior retainers of the household as future proof, which he still possesses to this day.
