に家督を下された。

本多佐渡守正信と同名である《注記：ただし故あり》。最初は上総介様に仕えており、大坂御
陣にお供した。その後渡辺図書殿の取り持ちによって御家に召し出された。
同じ御代、元和四年戊午年に信濃国において
別に召し出される
本多源右衛門直章《注記：生国は三河、初名は内記》
直章の弟である本多次郎左衛門正昭という者も別に召し出されて仕えた。その
養子である本多五太夫については、綱昌公の御代に御暇を下され、その跡は断絶した。
