● Masugi Tokozaemon, personal name unknown《Note: Both home and birth provinces Ōmi|Surname unknown》
His ancestors lived for several generations in a place called Masugi in Ōmi Province. Later he served
Chikuzen Chūnagon Hideaki-kyō, but having a desire to serve the (Matsudaira) house,
he requested leave but when the matter could not be resolved, he announced his departure and withdrew, coming to this province (Echizen). However,
having no connections, he stayed at a town inn and went to Manago Daigaku's place, discussing
his intentions as mentioned above and consulting about his circumstances. Later, he appeared
along the route of the falconry excursion and had an audience, where he was asked who he was, and when he explained
the above circumstances, he was immediately summoned into service. Later, when Lord Tadamasa first went to
Edo, he was appointed as guard and served in that capacity. He also served
during both years of the Osaka campaigns.
