利重ハ大坂冬御陣之節松平肥前守利常ノ先手岡嶋備中

● 山元四郎兵衛利重《注記：本国は加賀、生国は不明｜姓は不明、初名は坂野八右衛門》
利重の父坂野隼人は前田利家卿に仕え、天正十八年（1590年）武州八王子城攻めの時、もぎ付きの首を取った。関ヶ原の陣の時、加州大聖寺の城を前田肥前守利長が攻めた際、金ヶ丸という攻め口で討死した。
利重は大坂冬の陣の節、松平肥前守利常の先手岡嶋備中の部隊に加わって戦い、手傷を負ったが、戦場での引き取りの前後を争い、後に引き取った様子を備中が褒美したという。大坂夏の陣の節は高岡の城代として岡島備中が出陣せず、利重も其の手に加わっていたため出陣しなかった。その以後、御家に召し出された。

● Yamamoto Shirōbei Toshishige 《Note: Home province is Kaga, birth province unknown｜Family name unknown, original name Sakano Hachiemon》
Toshishige's father Sakano Hayato served Lord Maeda Toshiie. During the attack on Hachiōji Castle in Musashi Province in Tenshō 18 (1590), he took an enemy head in close combat. During the Battle of Sekigahara, when Maeda Hizen-no-kami Toshinaga attacked Daishōji Castle in Kaga Province, he died in battle at the assault point called Kanegamaru.
Toshishige participated in the Winter Siege of Osaka under the vanguard of Okajima Bitchū in the forces of Matsudaira Hizen-no-kami Toshitsune and fought courageously. Though wounded, he disputed the order of withdrawal from the battlefield and withdrew last, for which Bitchū praised him. During the Summer Siege of Osaka, Okajima Bitchū did not go to battle as he was serving as castle keeper of Takaoka, and Toshishige, being part of his unit, also did not participate in the campaign. After that, he was summoned to serve the domain.
