黒屋敷が滅亡し、家来の者の介抱で立ち退いた。その後越後国村上周
防守頼勝の所に仕えており、頼勝・同忠勝の判物を所持していた。忠昌公の御
代に伊黒の名字はご唱えになるのに具合が悪いとお思いになったので、替えるように仰せつけられ、太
田と改めた。太田称号の由緒については申し伝えられておらず、分からない。

During Lord Tadamasa's reign, summoned to service in Echigo《Note: Era name｜unknown》
● Ōta San'emon Masatsugu《Note: Home province Ōmi, birth province Kaga｜Family name unknown, original name Iguro, Buddhist name Kyūshin》
His ancestors lived in a place called Iguro in Gōshū (Ōmi Province). When Masatsugu was a youth, the
Iguro estate was destroyed in warfare, and he fled under the care of retainers. Afterwards, he served
under Murakami Shuubō-no-kami Yorikatsu in Echigo Province and possessed documents from Yorikatsu and Tadakatsu.
During Lord Tadamasa's reign, it was thought that pronouncing the Iguro surname was inauspicious, so he was ordered
to change it and adopted the name Ōta. The origins of the Ōta designation have not been handed down and are unknown.
