【夢中仏菩薩と清談の事】
さて国中の人。此事をつたへきゝて。ふしぎ
のおもひをなし御名をばいはずして神童（しんどう）
とのみなつけ申たり。やうやく六七さいにな
らせ給ふ其（その）頃（ころ）より御 道心（だうしん）の御こゝろざしふかゝ
りけるが夜（よ）な〳〵の御 夢（ゆめ）に。八 葉（よう）の蓮華（れんげ）
にざして仏（ぶつ）菩薩（ぼさつ）と物語したまふとのみ。
つねにゆめみたまひければいよ〳〵仏（ふつ）弟子（でし）と
なり給はん御心きざしけり

さて国中の人々がこの出来事を伝え聞いて、不思議に思い、お名前は言わずに「神童」とだけお呼び申し上げた。やがて六、七歳におなりになった頃から、ご修行への志が深くなられたが、夜ごとのお夢の中で、八葉の蓮華に座して仏菩薩と語り合われるということばかりを、いつも夢に見られたので、いよいよ仏弟子となられるお心が芽生えたのであった。

【Conversing with Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in Dreams】
The people throughout the country heard of these events and found them wondrous. Without speaking his name, they simply called him "Divine Child." When he reached about six or seven years of age, his aspiration for the Buddhist path deepened. Night after night in his dreams, he would sit on an eight-petaled lotus flower and converse with Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Since he constantly had such dreams, his intention to become a disciple of Buddha grew ever stronger.
