そも〳〵。高野（かうや）山（さん）金剛峯（こんかうぶう）寺（じ）は。八 葉（よう）にそびえて。
華蔵（けざう）を心海（しんかい）に観じ。山は両部（りやうぶ）をかねて。曼荼（まんだ）
を。石壁（せきへき）にあらはせり。空海御 結界（けつかい）の文には此
伽藍（がらん）東南（とうなん）西北（せいほく）。四 維（ゆい）上下あらゆる一 切（さい）の正 法（ぼう）を
やぶらん。毘那夜迦（びなやきや）。もろ〳〵の悪神（あくしん）等（とう）は。みな我
結界（けつかい）七 里（り）が外に出され。正 法（ぼう）をまもらん。善神（せんしん）等（とう）
は。心にしたがひて。伽藍（がらん）に住（ぢう）して。一 心（しん）に仏法（ぶつほう）を
住持（じうぢ）せば。相承（さうじやう）金剛乗（こんがうじやう）の法門（ほうもん）。流布（るふ）その時也。
相応（さうおふ）此所なり。かるがゆへに鎮国（ちんこく）安民（あんみん）のために。
此 峯（みね）におひて。除災（じよさい）秘密（ひみつ）の道場（たうぢやう）を建立（こんりう）す。院（ゐん）
郭（かく）十方（はう）の境（きやう）。本部（ほんぶ）の十天。おの〳〵寺をまもり。

そもそも、高野山金剛峯寺は、八葉（はちよう）の峰々にそびえ立ち、華蔵（けぞう）世界を心の海に観じ、山は両部（りょうぶ）の曼荼羅を兼ね備えて、その姿を石壁（いしかべ）に現している。空海の御結界文（おけっかいもん）には次のように記されている。「この伽藍の東・南・西・北、四維（しゆい）・上・下、あらゆる方向において、正法（しょうぼう）を破ろうとする毘那夜迦（びなやきゃ）やもろもろの悪神たちは、みな我が結界七里の外へ出されよ。正法を守る善神たちは、心のままにこの伽藍に住まいし、一心に仏法を守り護持せよ。そうすれば、相承（そうじょう）する金剛乗（こんごうじょう）の法門は、まさにこの時・この場所において流布されるであろう。」かくして、国を鎮め民を安んずるために、この峰において除災秘密の道場を建立する。院郭（いんかく）十方の境（さかい）において、本部の十天がそれぞれ寺を守り、

To begin with, Kongōbuji Temple on Mount Kōya rises amid the eight-petaled peaks, where one contemplates the Lotus Treasury World (Kezō) in the ocean of the mind, and the mountain, embodying both mandalas of the Dual Realm, manifests their forms upon its stone walls. In Kūkai's text of the Sacred Boundary (kekkai), it is written: "In this temple precinct — to the east, south, west, and north, in the four diagonal directions, above and below — all the Vināyaka demons and evil deities who would destroy the True Dharma shall be expelled beyond the seven-league boundary of our sacred enclosure. May the benevolent deities who protect the True Dharma dwell freely within this temple precinct and guard the Buddha's teachings with singularity of heart and mind. Then shall the teachings of the Vajrayāna, transmitted through proper lineage, be disseminated — at this very time, in this very place." Therefore, for the pacification of the nation and the peace of its people, a secret ritual sanctuary for the dispelling of calamities is hereby established upon this peak.
