しを。はき出し給へば。光（くはう）明（みやう）をはなつて。毒蛇（とくしや）をし
りぞけし事。ぼさつのゐとくあらはれ仏法（ふつほう）の無（む）
二（に）を現（げん）し。心（しん）花（け）たちまちひらけて。諸仏（しよふつ）の性（しやう）
相（さう）を尽（つく）し給ふ。即（すなはち）其光（ひかり）海にしづんて。今に至（いた）る
迄。猶 金色（こんしき）の光（ひかり）を残し給ふ。いとたうとかりけり。
玄冬（げんとう）深雪（しんせつ）のさむき空にもひとへなる。藤（ふぢ）の
衣のうすきをいとはず。盛夏（せいか）炎天（えんてん）のあつき日
も。穀漿（こくしやう）をたつて。精進（しやうしん）懺悔（さんげ）したまふ事二十年
におよびしとかや。まことに権化（ごんけ）の御身とはいひ

現代語訳
石を吐き出し給えば、光明を放って毒蛇を退けたという事があった。菩薩の威徳が現れ、仏法の無二を現し、心花たちまち開けて、諸仏の性相を尽くし給う。すなわちその光が海に沈んで、今に至るまで、なお金色の光を残し給う。実に尊いことであった。
厳冬の深雪の寒い空にも一重なる藤の衣の薄いのを厭わず、盛夏炎天の暑い日も、穀漿を断って、精進懺悔をなさること二十年に及んだということである。まことに権化の御身とはいいながら、ありがたいことどもであった。

英語訳
When he spat out the stone, it emitted brilliant light and drove away poisonous serpents. The bodhisattva's divine virtue was manifested, revealing the non-duality of the Buddhist Law, and the flower of his mind immediately bloomed, fully realizing the essential nature of all Buddhas. That light then sank into the sea, and even to this day continues to emit a golden radiance. This was truly sublime.
Even in the severe winter cold under deep snow, he did not mind wearing only thin hemp robes, and even on hot days of midsummer's blazing sun, he abstained from grain porridge and practiced asceticism and repentance for twenty years. Though he was truly an incarnate being, these were most remarkable accomplishments.
