【宇佐八幡にて入唐の御祈祷の事】
教主（けうしゆ）にあふぎ。いまは東寺（とうじ）一 流（りう）の法水（ほつすい）を
たゝへて。霊像（れいぞう）を西郊（せいかう）の仁（じん）祠（し）にとゝむ。そ
の本縁（ほんえん）をおもふに感涙（かんるい）そらに催（もよほ）せり。又
海上（かいしやう）擁護（をうご）のために。般若（はんにや）心経（しんぎやう）百巻（くはん）書（かき）た
まひて。宇佐（うさ）八幡（まん）におさめたまひけり

教主（釈迦如来）を仰ぎ、今は東寺一流の法水を湛えて、霊像を西郊の仁祠（仁和寺）に留める。その本縁を思うと感涙が空に催される。また海上擁護のために、般若心経百巻を書いて、宇佐八幡に納められた。

【On Prayers for Going to Tang China at Usa Hachiman Shrine】
Revering the teaching master (Shakyamuni Buddha), now holding the Dharma waters of the Tōji school, the sacred image remains at the benevolent shrine in the western suburbs (Ninna-ji). When thinking of its original connection, tears of emotion well up spontaneously. Also, for protection on the sea voyage, he wrote one hundred scrolls of the Prajñāpāramitā Heart Sutra and dedicated them to Usa Hachiman Shrine.
