扨馬よりおり給へば。神童（しんとう）申されしは。しばらく
是にやすませ給へと。いひもはてぬに。長（たけ）七八 尺（しやく）ば
かりなる青（あを）きひつじ。是もかさりくらをいて。和尚（くはしやう）の
御 前（まへ）にとび来る。又これに乗（のり）給ひ。山々 嶺々（みね〳〵）のけは
しきもしらず。とびすぎ給ふ。其後 夜叉神（やしやじん）飛（ひ）
車（しや）をひさげ来りて。和尚（くはしやう）を乗（のせ）まいらせて。かのく
るまにうちそひて。虚空（こくう）をかけり行ほどに
霊山（りやうぜん）のふもとに。至りぬとおほしめす処に。い
つくともなくおきな出きたり。和尚にむかひて
なんぢはいづくの人ぞと申ける

現代語訳
さて馬から降りられると、神童が申されたのは「しばらくここでお休みください」と。言い終わらないうちに、丈が七八尺ばかりある青い羊が、これも美しく飾られた鞍を背負って、和尚の御前に飛んできた。また これに乗られ、山々峰々の険しさも知らず、飛び越えて行かれる。その後、夜叉神が飛車を携えて来て、和尚をお乗せ申し上げて、その車に付き添って、虚空を駆けて行くうちに、霊山の麓に到着したと思われるところで、どこからともなく老人が現れた。和尚に向かって「あなたはどちらの方ですか」と尋ねた。

Now when he dismounted from the horse, the divine child said, "Please rest here for a while." Before finishing these words, a blue sheep about seven to eight shaku tall, also bearing a beautifully decorated saddle, came flying before the monk. He mounted this as well, and flew over mountains and peaks without knowing their steepness. After that, a yaksha deity came carrying a flying vehicle, had the monk board it, and accompanying that vehicle, they raced through the void until they arrived at what seemed to be the foot of Mount Ryōzen (Vulture Peak), where an old man appeared from nowhere. He faced the monk and asked, "Where are you from?"
