【大師御先祖の事】
抑（そも〳〵）本朝（ほんてう）真言（しんごん）の高祖（かうそ）。贈（ぞう）大（だい）僧正（じやう）。勅（ちよく）謚（し）弘法（こうぼう）大師（だいし）は
讃岐（さぬきの）国（くに）。多度（たどの）郡（こほり）屏風（びようふか）浦（うら）と申所の御生れにて
ぞまし〳〵ける。父（ちゝ）は佐伯（さへき）の直（なを）氏（うぢ）。母（はゝ）は阿刀（あと）氏（うぢ）これも
をとらせ給はぬ御氏也。それさへきの姓（しやう）と申すは。むか
し天照（あまてる）太神（おほんかみ）素（そ）盞（さの）烏（をの）尊（みこと）。天下をあらそひ給ひ
て。あまてるおほんがみ日月を掌（たなこゝろ）の中にして。天（あま）の岩（いは）
戸（と）にとぢこもりたまへは。天下とこやみとなり

そもそも本朝真言宗の高祖、贈大僧正、勅諡弘法大師は讃岐国多度郡屏風浦と申すところの御生まれでございました。父は佐伯直氏、母は阿刀氏で、これも劣らせ給わぬ御氏族でございます。その佐伯の姓と申しますのは、昔天照大神と素戔嗚尊が天下を争い給うて、天照大神が日月を掌の中にして天の岩戸に閉じこもり給えば、天下は常闇となりました。八百万の神達はこれを悲しみ給い、岩戸の前で神楽を奏し給い、御心を慰め給えば、岩戸を少し開かせ給いました。その時天児屋

【The Matter of the Great Master's Ancestors】
Now then, the founding patriarch of the Shingon school in our land, the posthumously granted Grand Monk Supervisor, imperially named Kōbō Daishi, was born in a place called Byōbugaura in Tado District of Sanuki Province. His father was of the Saeki no Atai clan, and his mother was of the Ato clan—both were distinguished family lines. Regarding the surname Saeki, in ancient times when Amaterasu Ōmikami and Susanoo no Mikoto contested for dominion over the world, Amaterasu Ōmikami enclosed the sun and moon in her palm and secluded herself in the heavenly rock cave, causing the world to fall into eternal darkness. The eight million kami grieved over this and performed sacred music before the rock cave to console her heart, whereupon she opened the rock door slightly. At that time, Ame-no-Koyane
