訶陵（かりう）の弁弘（へんこう）と新羅（しんら）の恵日（ゑにち）とには胎（たい）蔵の
師位（しゐ）をさづく。剣南（けんなん）の惟上（いしやう）と河北（かほく）の義円（ぎえん）と
には。金剛（こんがう）界（かい）の大法をつたへ義明（ぎみやう）供奉（ぐふ）には。南
部（ぶ）の大法を授（さづ）く。いまなんぢには。南部（ふ）秘奥（ひあふ）
壇（だん）儀（き）印（いん）契（けい）漢（かん）梵（ぼん）たかふことなく。こと〳〵くさ
つけをはんぬ。おなし瓶（ひやう）をうつすかことし。日のい

訶陵（かりん）の弁弘（べんこう）と新羅（しらぎ）の恵日（えにち）とには胎蔵（たいぞう）の師位（しい）を授けた。剣南（けんなん）の惟上（いしょう）と河北（かほく）の義円（ぎえん）とには、金剛界（こんごうかい）の大法を伝え、義明（ぎみょう）供奉（ぐぶ）には南部の大法を授けた。今、汝（なんじ）には、南部の秘奥（ひおう）、壇儀（だんぎ）・印契（いんけい）・漢梵（かんぼん）、違うことなく、ことごとく授け終えた。同じ瓶（びん）から水を移すようなものである。日が出る時に月は入り、油が尽きれば灯火が消えるのは常の道理である。菩薩も留まることなく、如来もすでに滅し給う。我もまた真（しん）に帰しなん。はるかに汝が来るのを見て、命が絶えることを恐れていたが、今汝を待ち得て、心に残ること

To Bianhong (弁弘) of Heling (訶陵) and Enichi (恵日) of Silla (新羅), he transmitted the rank of master in the Garbhadhātu (胎蔵, Womb Realm). To Weishang (惟上) of Jiannan (剣南) and Yiyuan (義円) of Hebei (河北), he transmitted the great dharma of the Vajradhātu (金剛界, Diamond Realm). To the attendant-monk Yiming (義明供奉), he transmitted the great dharma of the Southern school. And now to you, I have transmitted in full—without the slightest omission or error—all the secret and profound teachings of the Southern school: the altar rites (壇儀), the mudrās and seals (印契), and both Chinese and Sanskrit [texts and mantras] (漢梵). It is as though the contents of one vessel have been poured entirely into another. When the sun rises, the moon sets; when the oil is exhausted, the lamp goes out—such is the natural order of things. Even bodhisattvas do not remain forever, and the Tathāgata too has already passed into nirvāṇa. I, too, shall soon return to the True [nature of things]. From afar, seeing that you were coming, I had feared that my life might expire before your arrival; but now, having waited and welcomed you, there is nothing left
