【鎮西賀春の山に草木一時に生茂る事】
大同（だいとう）元年（ぐはんねん）も。つくし観音（くはんをん）寺（じ）にて暮させ給ひ。新玉（あらたま）
の春にも成しかば。急（いそ）ぎ都へのぼり給ひしが。去ぬる
延暦（えんりやく）二十三年に。入唐（いつたう）の御こゝろざしおこりし時。
鎮西（ちんぜい）にて。宇佐（うさ）の大 明神（みやうじん）をはじめたてま
つり。もろ〳〵の神祇（じんき）に御 祈誓（きせい）をなして。渡（と）
海（かい）安然（あんぜん）とたのみたてまつらせ給ひし時。豊前（ぶぜん）
の国。賀春（かすい）の明神（みやうじん）の託（たく）してのたまひけるは。
聖人（しやうにん）法（ほう）をおもくし。命（めい）をかるくおもひて。求法（くほう）の
ために。はる〳〵の海路におもむき。もろこし
にわたり給はん事いとありがたし。しからば

### 鎮西の賀春の山に草木が一時に生い茂ること
大同元年も、筑紫の観音寺にてお過ごしになり、新春を迎えられたので、急いで都へお上りになった。さて、かつての延暦二十三年に、入唐のお志が起こられた時、鎮西において宇佐の大明神をはじめとして、もろもろの神祇に御祈誓をなされ、渡海の安全をお頼み申し上げられた時、豊前の国、賀春の明神が御神託を下してこうおっしゃるには、「聖人は法を重んじ、命を軽く思われて、求法のために、はるばる海路へ赴かれ、唐へ渡られることは、まことにありがたいことである。それならば——」

### How Grasses and Trees on the Mountain of Gasui in Chinzei All Flourished at the Same Time
Throughout Daidō 1 (806), [the Daishi] spent his days at Kanzeon-ji Temple in Tsukushi, and when the new spring arrived, he set out in haste for the capital. Now, back in Enryaku 23 (804), when the resolve to travel to Tang China had arisen, [the Daishi], while in Chinzei, had offered solemn prayers to the great deity of Usa and to all the various gods, beseeching them for safe passage across the sea. At that time, the deity of Gasui in Buzen Province delivered an oracle, saying: "It is truly admirable that the holy man, holding the Dharma dear and thinking little of his own life, is setting out along the distant sea route in order to seek the Law, and is crossing over to China. In that case——"
