なし。しかるをいかなる故かありけん。池にすむ
竜王（りうわう）此池をはなれて他（た）所にうつる。此故に池の

およそ空海が御一生のうちに現された功徳の数々は、諸国においてその例が多い。河内国にひとつの池があって、水が常に満ち流れている。夏の炎天下でも、雨が降らなくても、その水が涸れることはない。しかしながら、どのような理由があったのだろうか、池に住む竜王がこの池を離れて他の場所に移ってしまった。この故に池の水がすっかり涸れてしまった。あたり近くで田を作る者たちは、この池の水を頼みにしていた。夏になって田を潤すのに全く水がない。早苗はすっかり枯れ果ててしまった。人々はこれを嘆いていた。空海がこの場所を

In general, the virtuous deeds that Kūkai manifested throughout his lifetime are numerous examples found throughout the provinces. In Kawachi Province, there was a pond where water constantly filled and flowed. Even under the scorching summer sun, even when it did not rain, the water never dried up. However, for some unknown reason, the dragon king who lived in the pond left this pond and moved to another location. Because of this, the water in the pond completely dried up.
