現代語訳
まず第一に水を運び、二番目に火・馬・太刀・眷属・雑物、その後に御主人が入る。一人も手ぶらで入ってはならない。
中人以下（一般庶民）は、水・火・雑物・眷属・生き物・亭主の順である。
空海上人（弘法大師）が四十二歳の時、勅命を受けて大極殿の額を書かれたが、「大」の一文字が中で切れて「火極殿」となってしまったためか、大内（宮中）が炎上したということである。
一般に通用する土地では、幅が狭くとも石橋と土橋を交互に架けておけば、非常の備えにもなるであろう。車はなくても構わないだろう。

右の九曜のうち、大厄のみを表したものである。火曜星は的殺ではないが、火災・病難・争い事があるであろう。この他の星に当たっても、毎年冬至に星祭りを行い、放生（生き物を放つ功徳）・陰徳を施せば、七難即滅すること疑いなし。
英語訳
First, water should be carried in; second, fire, horses, swords, attendants, and miscellaneous goods; and then the master of the house enters. Not a single person should enter empty-handed.
For people of middle or lower social standing, the order is: water, fire, miscellaneous goods, attendants, living creatures, and finally the master of the house.
When the monk Kūkai (Kōbō Daishi) was forty-two years old, he received an imperial command to write the plaque for the Daigokuden (Great Audience Hall). It is said that the character "dai" (大, meaning "great") was split in the middle, making it read "Kagokuden" (火極殿, "Fire Extreme Hall"), and because of this, the imperial palace subsequently burned down.
On commonly used land, even if the width is narrow, alternately placing stone bridges and earthen bridges would serve as preparation for emergencies. Wheeled vehicles may not even be necessary.

Venus Star (金曜星, ●) Greatly inauspicious; fire nature and wood nature are particularly bad. (4th/10th intervals) age 4; (birth year) age 13; (4th/10th intervals) age 22; (7th interval) age 31; (4th/10th intervals) age 40; (birth year) age 49; (4th/10th intervals) age 58.
Mars Star (火曜星, ●) Greatly inauspicious; water nature and metal nature are especially bad. Ages 6, 15, 24, 33, 42, 51, 60.
Ketu Star (計都星, ●) Same as Rāhu; one should devote oneself to faith. (7th interval) age 7; (4th/10th intervals) age 16; (birth year) age 25; (4th/10th intervals) age 34; (7th interval) age 43; (4th/10th intervals) age 52; (birth year) age 61.

The above shows only the major inauspicious years among the Nine Luminaries. The Mars Star does not represent a fatal directional conflict, but there will be fire disasters, illness, and disputes. Even if one encounters other stars' inauspicious years, if one performs the star festival (hoshi matsuri) at the winter solstice each year, practices the releasing of living creatures (hōjō), and performs hidden virtuous deeds (intoku), the Seven Calamities will undoubtedly be immediately extinguished.
