第一に水を運び、二番目に火・馬・太刀・眷属（家族・従者）・雑物、その後に御主人様が入る。一人も手ぶらで入るべからず。
一、中人（ちゅうじん）以下は、水・火・雑物・眷属・生類・亭主という順序である。
一、空海上人（弘法大師）が四十二歳の時、勅命を受けて大極殿の額（扁額）を書かれた折、「大」の一文字の中が切れて「火極殿」となってしまったためか、大内（宮中）が炎上したとのことである。
一、一般に通行する土地は、幅が狭くとも石橋と土橋を取り交ぜて掛け置けば、非常（緊急）の備えにもなるであろう。車（荷車）はなくてもよかろう。

右、九曜のうち大厄のみを表したものである。火曜星は（命式上の）的殺（てきさつ）ではないけれども、火災・病難・争いごとが起こるであろう。この他の星に当たっている年も、年々冬至に星祭りを行い、放生（生き物を逃がす善行）・陰徳（人知れずなす善行）を施せば、七難即滅（しちなんそくめつ）、疑いなし。

First, water should be brought in; second, fire, the horse, the sword, attendants and family (*kenzoku*), and miscellaneous goods; and after all of this, the master of the house enters. Not a single person should enter empty-handed.
1. For those of middling station (*chūjin*) and below, the order is: water, fire, miscellaneous goods, attendants and family, living creatures, and then the master of the house.
1. When the monk Kūkai (Kōbō Daishi) was forty-two years of age, he received an imperial decree (*choku*) and wrote the placard (*gaku*) for the Great Audience Hall (*Daigokuden*). The central stroke of the character *dai* (大, "great") was severed, turning it into *ka* (火, "fire"), making it read *Kagokuden* ("Hall of Fire Extremity") — and thereafter the palace (*ōuchi*) is said to have burned.
1. On land used as a public thoroughfare, even if the width is narrow, alternating stone bridges and earthen bridges should be installed and kept in place, as this can serve as preparation for emergencies. Carts (*kuruma*) may be dispensed with.

● **Rāhu Star (*Rago-sei*)** — All five natures (*gosei*): Eight Directions Blocked (*happō fusagari*); greatly inauspicious in all things.

● **Venus Star / Metal Star (*Kin'yō-sei*)** — Greatly inauspicious. The Fire nature (*kasei*) and Wood nature (*mokusei*) are particularly ill-fated.

The table above shows only the years of great calamity (*taiyaku*) among the Nine Luminaries. The Fire Star (*Kayō-sei*) is not technically a "personal deadly direction" (*tekisetsu*), yet it portends fire disasters, illness, and quarrels. Even in years when one falls under the influence of the other stars listed here, if one performs the Star Festival (*hoshi matsuri*) at the winter solstice each year and carries out acts of releasing living creatures (*hōjō*) and secret virtue (*intoku*, good deeds performed without seeking recognition), then the immediate extinction of the Seven Calamities (*shichi-nan sokumetsu*) is without doubt.
