1. **The 7th year of Bunsei, the year Kinoe-Saru (甲申, 1824)** — 1st day of the 2nd month

Fire spread from Kanda Sankawachō as far as Nihonbashi.
2. **The 11th year of Bunsei (same era), the year Tsuchinoe-Ne (戊子, 1828)** — 5th day of the 2nd month

Fire spread from Otowachō as far as the Sugamo area.
— Also: on the 21st day of the 3rd month, during the middle of the Hour of the Snake (c. 10 a.m.), starting from Sotokanda Sakumachō riverbank — to the east, fire reached as far as Ryōgoku, Ōkawabata, and Tsukudajima; to the west, as far as the Ohori-bata-dōri (the moat-side street); to the south, it stopped at Shibaguchi Kawagishi-dōri and Shiodome. To the southeast (the direction of *Tatsumi*), fire reached as far as the Tsukiji shoreline. The Western Hall (*Nishi Midō*), three theater bridges (*shibai-bashi*), more than sixty earthen storehouses (*dozō*), approximately 1,200 or more buildings, and an uncountable number of large and small boats were destroyed. Nine emergency shelters (*osukui-goya*) were erected, and people donated rice, money, and various goods. The number of those who perished in the fire or drowned was beyond reckoning.
