義｜融（ゆう）老（らう）人とて頗（すこぶる）天文に明らかなる翁あり予此叟に随
ひて廿八宿七｜曜（よう）の形（かたち）を見覚んと夜毎庭上に出て
教えを受しが容易（たやす）く熟（じゆく）することを得ずしかはあれど世
界の方位を知ると他国へゆきてもしるく夜分の刻限をさ
とることを得る也翁常にいへらく今泰平の御代に
産（うま）れて万民枕を高うしてよき衣を着美食をくらひて
歓楽をきはむる輩多し殊に近代居宅の結構華麗

義融老人という、大変天文に明るい翁がいた。私はこの老人に従って、二十八宿七曜の形を見覚えようと、夜毎に庭上に出て教えを受けたが、容易に熟達することはできなかった。しかしながら、世界の方位を知ると、他国へ行っても明らかに夜の時刻を悟ることができる。翁は常に言っていた。「今、太平の御代に生まれて、万民が枕を高くして良い衣を着、美食を食らって歓楽を極める者が多い。特に近代は居宅の結構が華麗で
