現代語訳
出されている別紙の通りである。しかしながら近年は軽い御扶持人の身分では、養父母・継母あるいは夫の死後の妻への名跡継承などの類について、家内の者が気ままに募って、養子・入婿などが気に入らなければ、種々の難題を申し掛けて立て替えさせたり、あるいは内証で仕切りをするなどの類があると聞いている。上に対して勤務に不調法な筋もなく、頭の気に入らない儀もないが、右の家内の者の申し分を気随に申し立てることを、組役人たちが心得違いして取り用いて立て替えなどを願い出たり、あるいは困難な内証仕切りなどをすることは済まされないことなので、今後各々はこれらの儀についても入念に取り調べ、不適切な者は早速それぞれ咎などを厳重に申し付けるはずである旨を、寄々の諸物頭の面々へ申し聞かせておくべきである。

一、宝永四年亥七月二十六日、御先足軽の内に大工以外は諸細工人を置くことは無用である旨が先年仰せ出されたことがないかと御吟味したところ、前々の記録にもその品目はなく、その上御普請奉行中への御役儀の式目帳（明暦四年戌二月、延宝八年申三月の両度、御家老中連判にて渡された帳面）にも御足軽の内で諸細工を仕る者はその品により増歩を下されるべき旨があり、それならば諸細工を仕る者は前々からあった趣に見える。その上当町には少なく、御足軽の内にこのような者もいなければ御事欠きになる義である旨を各々が吟味した上、ともかくその通りで改めて仰せ出される品目には及ばない。
一、享和元年酉六月、屋敷奉行宮北長左衛門が申し聞かせたのは、御坊主中野清三の指上地並びに屋敷地検地のため御用で拙者組の者を指し出すにつき、番歩を引くよう申し聞き、その段を割月番へ申し越すよう組小頭へ申し付けた。
一、享和元年酉六月四日、御普請奉行が申し聞かせたのは、近日虫干しが始まったところ、この節御堀上浚いなど御人払い底につき、近例の通り陣屋御手当として御足軽の内からその御用を勤めるようにしたい旨につき、その段を御家老中へ相伺いの上、御先物頭月番並びに陣屋守下山清左衛門方へも申し達し、御普請奉行へもその立人の内から虫干しを勤めるよう、それぞれ取り扱うべき旨を申し達した。
一、文化四年卯三月、用水奉行竹沢五郎右衛門が申し聞かせたのは、用水渡り組の者でこの節やむを得ない御用筋があり在先へ差し出すので、差し支えないよう申し聞いたにつき、もし差し支えがあればその段を御奉行へ申し達し、御奉行共からこちらへ通達があるよう返答した事。
一、享和元年酉二月二十八日、平岡金左衛門が申し聞かせたのは、雁鴨御用につき明日朔日から野廻りで鳥打ちの者へ打たせる旨、これにつき番歩を引くよう申し聞いたにつき、その段を割月番へ申し越すよう組小頭へ申し付けた。
一、文化十一年戌正月、中根新左衛門割入組の岡本仲次という者が出奔したところ、内々に召し連れ帰り、頭の存念をもって御暇を遣わした儀は、組の者の咎の部に出ている。
一、寛保二年戌八月十六日、御先物頭大崎七太夫が札所吟味役を仰せ付けられ、御先組一組をそのまま御預けになったこれにつき物書一人を相願い、願いの通り下されたところ、七太夫組にはいないにつき、御先物頭東新五右衛門組の内と一人入れ替えた儀は御城下の部札所の条に出ている。
一、文化十二年亥七月二十日、評定所において御奉行梶川半兵衛、御目付長谷部小右衛門へ別紙の通り仰せ付けられ申し談じて取り扱うべき旨を御家老中が申し聞かせたにつき、即日頭々の面々を小右衛門宅へ招き、それぞれ申し渡すよう達した。

However, in recent years, among those of lower stipend status, regarding matters of inheritance succession to adoptive parents, stepmothers, or wives after husbands' deaths, family members have become willful in their demands. When they dislike prospective adopted sons or sons-in-law, they create various difficulties and demand replacements, or conduct private arrangements. While there may be no improper conduct toward superiors or anything displeasing to the group leaders, when family members make arbitrary demands, it is unacceptable for group officials to misunderstand and accommodate such requests for replacements or engage in troublesome private arrangements. Therefore, in the future, everyone must carefully investigate such matters, and those found inappropriate shall immediately receive strict punishment. This should be communicated to all the group leaders.

1. On the 26th day of the 7th month, Hōei 4 (year of the Boar), regarding whether there was a previous directive that placement of various craftsmen other than carpenters among the advance ashigaru was unnecessary - upon investigation, no such item was found in previous records. Moreover, in the ceremonial procedure manual for construction magistrates (distributed with joint seals of senior councilors in the 2nd month of Meireki 4 and 3rd month of Enpō 8), it states that various craftsmen among the ashigaru should receive salary increases according to their skills. This suggests that various craftsmen have existed since ancient times. Furthermore, there are few such people in the current town, and without such people among the ashigaru, official duties would be hindered. After everyone's investigation, it was concluded that no new directive needed to be issued.
1. In the 6th month of Kyōwa 1 (year of the Cock), estate magistrate Miyakita Chōzaemon reported that for the land survey of Buddhist monk Nakano Seizō's surrendered and estate lands, he would dispatch men from his group, requesting that their regular duties be suspended. He instructed the group leader to inform the rotating monthly official.
1. On the 4th day of the 6th month, Kyōwa 1 (year of the Cock), the construction magistrate reported that as the drying season was beginning and there was a shortage of workers for moat dredging and other tasks, they wished to assign ashigaru as temporary help for the encampment as was customary. After consulting with the senior councilors, this was communicated to the chief ashigaru commander on monthly duty and encampment guard Shimoyama Seizaemon, and the construction magistrate was informed that the drying work should be handled by selecting from among these personnel.
1. In the 3rd month of Bunka 4 (year of the Rabbit), waterworks magistrate Takezawa Gorōemon reported that men from the waterworks crossing group had urgent official duties and would be sent to rural areas. He requested that this not interfere with regular duties. In response, it was agreed that if there were conflicts, they would be reported to the magistrate, who would then communicate with this office.
1. On the 28th day of the 2nd month, Kyōwa 1 (year of the Cock), Hiraoka Kinzaemon reported that for wild goose and duck duties, bird hunters would be deployed for field patrols starting the next day (1st day). He requested suspension of regular duties, which was communicated to the rotating monthly official through the group leader.
1. In the 1st month of Bunka 11 (year of the Dog), when Okamoto Nakaji from Nakane Shinzaemon's supplementary group absconded but was privately brought back, the matter of granting him leave at the group leader's discretion appears in the section on group member punishments.
1. On the 16th day of the 8th month, Kanpō 2 (year of the Dog), when advance group commander Ōsaki Shichidayū was appointed as temple inspection officer and given charge of one advance group, he requested one clerk, which was granted. However, since there was no one in Shichidayū's group, one person was transferred from advance group commander Azuma Shingorōemon's group. This matter appears in the castle town section under temple regulations.

On the 20th day of the 7th month, Bunka 12 (year of the Boar), at the council chamber, magistrate Kajikawa Hanbei and inspector Hasebe Koemon were given the attached instructions and told to consult and handle matters accordingly by the senior councilors. That same day, all group leaders were summoned to Koemon's residence for instructions.
