姓名書を持って相達する事、すなわちその書付を持って御側御用人へ差し出し、その者たちに御徒目付見習を申し付けるべきかと相伺い、お考えもないという場合は御家老中へ相達した上で、御徒目付月番に指加し、同役月番が申し渡す。
ただし御徒頭へも心得として申し達すべき事。御免許になる節も同様。御留守年は直接御家老中へ相伺い申し渡す事。

一、御用頭取の事は諸御用向を引き受け、万事において頭立って相勤めるべき事

一、御作事方見回りの事は江戸・御国共に御修復所を回り、諸所粗末な事がないか、火の元ならびに私欲等の事がないかを調べるべき事

Names shall be submitted in writing, that is, the written document shall be presented to the御側御用人 (gosoba goyōnin, personal attendant), and inquiry shall be made whether these persons should be appointed as assistant 御徒目付 (o-kachi-metsuke, foot soldier inspectors). If there is no particular consideration, it shall be communicated to the senior councilors, and after adding them to the monthly duty 御徒目付, the colleague on monthly duty shall announce the appointment.
However, this should also be communicated to the 御徒頭 (o-kachi-gashira, head of foot soldiers) for their information. The same applies when permission is granted. During the lord's absence years, inquiry shall be made directly to the senior councilors and the appointment announced.

1. Regarding the general affairs supervisor: they shall take charge of all official duties and serve as the leader in all matters
1. Regarding mourning period regulations and lineage investigation: they shall examine those below direct audience rank in both Edo and the domain
1. Regarding construction office inspections: they shall patrol repair sites in both Edo and the domain, checking for any negligence, fire hazards, and private gain
