【右丁】
水押（みずおし）により極めて難渋している者が来て、「日雇いなどをしたい」と申した場合、身元のしっかりした者であれば、雇い置いてよいとの、御仁心深い思し召し、申し上げるばかりでございます。
さらに御触れには、御領分・御他領を問わず、地震・水押・凶難によって亡くなった人々のために、五月六日、大町の弾誓寺においてセガキ（施餓鬼）の施行がある間、仏詣でをすべしとの御触れがあり、皆々、袂（たもと）を絞り（涙を流し）ました。
さて、水が引いた後、同五月二十六日に松本を御出立にて、

**Right folio:**
Those who had been driven to extreme distress by the floodwaters came (to the domain), saying they wished to work as day laborers and the like. If they were persons of reliable background, (the notice stated that) it was permissible to employ and keep them. Words alone cannot do justice to (the lord's) deeply compassionate intentions.
Furthermore, the official notice stated that, regardless of whether one was from within the domain's territory or from another domain, a *segaki* (ceremony of offerings to hungry spirits) service would be held on the sixth day of the fifth month at Danseiji temple in Ōmachi, for those who had perished in the earthquake, floods, and disasters. All were urged to come and pay their respects at the temple, and everyone wept, wringing their sleeves (with grief and gratitude).
After the waters receded, on the twenty-sixth day of the fifth month, a party departed from Matsumoto, led by:
