差上申一札之事
一御法度御條目之趣常々被仰渡
承知仕奉畏罷在候処別而五人組之内
御法度相背或身持不埒成者有之候ハゝ
異見を加へ其上不相用候ハゝ丁代中迄
其段可申達旨兼々被仰渡奉承知
罷在候処私共組合之内山形屋太郎兵衛
遠州屋喜代松右両人御法度相背
不届至極ニ奉存候然ル処組合之者共
右躰之儀一向不奉存罷在今度御咎ニ付
申訳無御座奉恐入候右ニ付
御役所江茂被仰達当人ハ勿論組合一統
厳敷御咎為【可ヵ】被仰付之処丁代中を以
御訴訟申上候ニ付御慈悲を以今度者
御用捨被成下難有奉存候然ル上ハ已来
右躰之不埒成儀決而為致申間鋪候
尤右両人ニ不限組合之内ニ心得違之者
無之様平生申合御大法急度相守
可申候此上万々一御法度筋相背候者
御座候ハゝ組合一統何様之越度ニ茂可
仰付候為後日一札差上申候処仍如件

差し上げ申し上げる一札の事
御法度・御条目の趣旨について、常々仰せ渡されており、承知いたし畏れ多く存じております。特に五人組の内で御法度に背いたり、身持ちが不埒な者がいた場合には、意見を加え、その上で聞き入れない場合は町代中までその段を申し達すべき旨、かねがね仰せ渡されており、承知しております。
ところが私どもの組合の内で、山形屋太郎兵衛と遠州屋喜代松の両人が御法度に背き、不届き至極と存じます。しかしながら組合の者どもは、そのような事を全く存じておらず、今度のお咎めについて申し訳なく、恐れ入っております。
このことについて御役所へも仰せ達せられ、当人はもちろん組合一統に厳しいお咎めを仰せ付けられるところ、町代中を以ってお訴訟申し上げましたところ、ご慈悲を以って今度は御用捨成し下され、ありがたく存じます。
そうである以上、今後はそのような不埒な事を決していたしません。もっとも右の両人に限らず、組合の内に心得違いの者がないよう、平生申し合わせ、御大法をきっと相守り申します。この上万が一にも御法度筋に背く者がございましたら、組合一統どのような越度にも仰せ付けられても構いません。後日のために一札差し上げ申し候。よって件の如し。

A written pledge submitted
Regarding the prohibitions and regulations that have been constantly proclaimed, we humbly acknowledge and fearfully accept them. In particular, we have been repeatedly instructed that if anyone within the five-person group violates the prohibitions or conducts themselves improperly, we should admonish them, and if they do not heed our advice, we must report the matter to the town representatives. We acknowledge these instructions.
However, within our group, two persons - Yamagataya Tarōbei and Enshūya Kiyomatsu - have violated the prohibitions, which we consider extremely improper. Nevertheless, the other members of our group were completely unaware of such conduct, and we deeply regret and are ashamed of this current reprimand.
Regarding this matter, it was reported to the authorities, and while both the individuals in question and our entire group should have received severe punishment, we submitted a petition through the town representatives. Through your mercy, you have graciously pardoned us this time, for which we are deeply grateful.
Given this clemency, we will never again engage in such improper conduct. Moreover, not limited to these two individuals, we will regularly consult among ourselves to ensure that no one in our group errs in judgment, and we will strictly observe the great laws. Should anyone in our group violate the prohibitions in the future, our entire group will accept whatever punishment may be imposed. We submit this pledge for future reference. Thus stated.
