（田手久之介の儀につき）荒井権之助の弟・山三郎を聟養子になされ下さるよう願い申し上げ候えども、右山三郎は小梁川家へ正道の続き（血筋・系譜）にも無之、その上、（血縁的な）つながりも遠く候。小梁川の家柄は格別の義ゆえ、御先代助三郎殿をもって規矩（きく）にかなうよう相立てられ候御首尾もあるやに、御家の御続き断絶なきため、諸々の事情をもって右の通り仰せ付けられ候事。

(Regarding the matter of Tade Kyūnosuke:) Although a petition had been submitted requesting that Arai Gonnosuke's younger brother, Sanzaburō, be accepted as son-in-law and adopted heir, said Sanzaburō has no legitimate blood connection to the Koyanagawa family, and furthermore his lineage is too distant. As the Koyanagawa family is of exceptional standing, and given that there had been certain precedents set through the late lord Sukezaburō to establish proper order according to established norms, in order to prevent the continuation of the family line from being severed, the matter has been decided as stated above, taking all circumstances into consideration.
