て九尺五寸四分六厘六毛ある。これを二つで割れば四尺七寸七分三厘三毛になる。これに四をかければ一九〇九三二となる。これを左右に置いてかけて、さて七九をかけ、また深さをかければ八石六斗四升となる。
右の桶の積もり方は、大体に積もる時は右のように致しますが、いずれも回りよりすぼまり、また四方よりすぼまったものは、底と口を合わせて二つで割ることは良くありません。本当の積もり方は口伝で、私の書にあります。

This gives nine shaku five sun four bu six rin six mō. Divide this by two to get four shaku seven sun seven bu three rin three mō. Multiply this by four to get 190932. Place this on both sides and multiply, then multiply by 79, and then multiply by the depth to get eight koku six to four shō.
Regarding the above method of calculating bucket capacity: when making rough calculations, one proceeds as described above, but for any object that tapers from the circumference or tapers from all four sides, it is not good to add the bottom and top together and divide by two. The true calculation method is transmitted orally and is found in my writings.
