一 当村石切之儀悉詮儀仕今年書上之外
壱人茂無御座候然上者石切共旅先ニ而随分
実躰正路相廻り候様申付承知いたし候若帳
面除キ隠置候段御聴及候ハヽ其元御注進

被 仰付候共少茂御恨無之候為後日一札

差し上げ申す一札の事
一、当村の石切の件について、詳しく調査を行い、今年の書き上げ以外に一人もおりません。そうである以上は、石切たちが旅先において十分に真面目に正しい行いをするよう申し付け、承知いたしました。もし帳面から除いて隠し置いている者がいることをお聞きになりましたら、そちら様へご報告くださいますよう、承知いたしました。その上は私どもがどのようなお咎めを仰せ付けられましても、少しも恨みに思うことはございません。後日のため一札を差し出し申す次第でございます。よって件の如し。

Given this situation, we have instructed the stone cutters to conduct themselves with utmost sincerity and propriety while traveling, and we acknowledge this responsibility. Should you hear that we have excluded anyone from the records and concealed their existence, please report this to the authorities. We acknowledge that should this occur, whatever punishment may be imposed upon us, we will harbor no resentment whatsoever. We submit this written pledge for future reference. Therefore, as stated above.
