一 穴蔵（あなくら）のほり所もなく頼（たの）むべき蔵（くら）もなき人

かろき人々は常（つね）に此 心懸（こころがけ）すへき事なり
一 車長持（くるまながもち）にて家財（かざい）を引出（ひきいだ）さんとする人は兼（かね）
て大切なる物ともをつゞまやかに入置（いれおき）急火（きふくわ）
ならば手かろくすみやかに引出すべし欲（よく）に
まかせて長持の上へもおゝく物をつみ
現代語訳
ならば、上に名前を書き、よく印をつけて送るべきである。そうしなければ、必ず後で他人と自分との間で争いが起きるものである。これも数度聞き及んでいるがゆえに、記しておくことである。
一、穴蔵を掘る場所もなく、頼むべき蔵もない人は、できる限り良い着物に着替えて、それぞれの身分・財力に相応した金銭を持ち、前の段に書きおいた通り、こぢんまりとまとめて入れておいた櫃や皮籠を持って避難すべきである。身なりが見苦しければ、避難先で用事が弁じられないものである。また、銭がなくて金（貨）ばかりでは、食事などその他の細々とした用途に行き当たって難儀するものである。ただ、身に付けたものほど確かに残るものはないのだから、（財産が）軽い人々は常にこの心がけをすべきことである。
一、車長持で家財を引き出そうとする人は、あらかじめ大切な品々をこぢんまりとまとめて入れておき、急な火事であれば、手軽にすみやかに引き出すべきである。欲に任せて長持の上にも多くの物を積み
