わりに気を付（つけ）火の移（うつ）りやすき物をば
取のけ若（もし）かべ際（きは）ならばその間（あいた）へたび〳〵
水をかけべしかまどよりの出火 数度（すど）聞

現代語訳
また割れ目のあるものである。故に火を焚く時は周りに気をつけ、火の移りやすい物は取り除き、もし壁際ならばその間へ度々水をかけるべきである。竈からの出火は数度聞き及び、私も覚えがあるゆえに記しておく。よくよく気をつけ、油断があってはならない事である。
夜中に綿を打つ時、弓弦が切れ飛んで灯火を打ち倒し、その火が綿に移って火災となる事がままある大きな事である。それを防ぐには、かねてむしろか薄べりを二三枚近くに置き、早く打ちかけて消すべき事である。
一、唐油、合羽、煙草入れ。総じて油を引いた物を日に干して冷めないうちに包み込んでしまえば、必ず火気となって焼け出るものである。早く濡れ莚を打ちかけ押しつけて消すべきである。これもまたどこにでも時々ある事なのでよく冷ましてから
