これは布団や衣装が火に入って焼けるだけではない。栗の木の炭は跳ねるものなので、少しの飛び火であっても乾いた所なので付きやすくて燃える物である。そのため炬燵から人が離れる時は火が見えないように灰をかけて、周りをよく見て去る時は炬燵からの火事はないだろう。このような事を皆々に道理をよく聞かせ置くべき事である。
