事とてかくすより大事（たいじ）となる物なれば平
生｜近所（きんじよ）の人々にいゝ合て｜鳴物（なりもの）をうち｜互（たかひ）に
ちからを合（あは）すへき事
一 祝義（しくぎ）并に作事（さくじ）又は愁（うれへ）等（とう）｜惣（さう）じて家（か）
内（ない）のものくたびれたる時は主人（しゆじん）家来（けらい）の
者（もの）夜中｜別（べつ）して方々（ほう〳〵）へ気（き）を付｜出火（しゆつくわ）ぬ

一 雷（らい）火に水をかくれば却（かへつ）て火さかんに
成（なる）物なりはやく此方よりもゆる火を｜加（くわ）ゆ

一 革（かは）しやうぞくの代（かは）りに用ひて能（よき）ものは地
のよき木綿（もめん）一反にめうばん一斤へ水二升
入て一升にせんじさめ冷（ひや）し置豆（おきまめ）のこ
をすりたてよく通（とを）して五合くわへあたゝ
めて何（なん）べんも引（ひき）ほして羽織（はおり）頭巾（づきん）た
現代語訳
小さな事だからといって隠すよりも大事となるものなので、普段から近所の人々とよく相談して、鳴り物を打って互いに力を合わせるべきである。
一、祝い事や建築工事、また悲しみ事等、総じて家内の者が疲れている時は、主人・家来の者は夜中、特に方々へ気を付けて、出火や盗人の用心を怠ってはならない。
一、雷火に水をかけると、かえって火が激しくなるものである。早くこちらからも燃える火を加えれば、すなわち消えるものである。あらかじめ心得ておくべきである。
一、革製装束の代わりに用いて良いものは、地の良い木綿一反に明礬一斤、水二升を入れて一升に煎じ、冷まして置き、大豆の粉をすり立ててよく漉して五合加え、温めて何度も引いて干して、羽織や頭巾に

As a good substitute for leather equipment, use good quality cotton cloth - take one tan of fine cotton, add one kin of alum to two sho of water, boil it down to one sho, let it cool, add five go of well-ground and strained soybean powder, warm it, and repeatedly soak and dry it to make haori (jackets) and zukin (head coverings).
