そへ持行（もちゆき）くみかけふせく事よし飛火（とびひ）を
きやすにも飯椀（いゝわん）にて水をかくれば思ふ所へ
水かゝりて火きえる也まづは火本（ひもと）をふせき
消（きや）す事｜第（だい）一なるべしかならずしも家財（かざい）
にかゝりて遅（ち）くすべからず火元（ひもと）きへぬれば
家財（かざい）はおのつから残（のくる）なるへし此（この）理（り）をよく
わきまへしりて大切（たいせつ）に能（よく）防（ふせ）くときは人（ひと）感（かん）じて
たすけ合（あい）第一は神明（しんめい）も必（かなら）ず助（たす）け給ふ

に風はげしき時（とき）は油断（ゆだん）なくおき桶（おけ）鍋（なべ）釜（かま）

一 火事（くわじ）あらはまづ帯（おび）をしめ《割書：おひゆるければ気｜もこゝろもしまら》

現代語訳
そえて持参し、汲みかけて防ぐことが良い。飛び火を
消すにも飯椀で水をかければ思う所へ
水がかかって火が消える。まずは火元を防ぎ
消すことが第一である。必ずしも家財
にかかって遅くしてはならない。火元が消えれば
家財は自然と残ることになる。この理屈をよく
わきまえ知って大切によく防ぐときは人が感じて
助け合い、第一は神明も必ず助けてくださる
ことである。
一 火が出る時、風の東西は定めがたい。風は吹く時に
変わるものである。その他火事が起こらないものではない故に
風が激しい時は油断なく置き桶、鍋、釜、
据え風呂等にも水を汲み入れ、その他には家財の取り
片づけを心がけるべきことである。
一 火事があればまず帯を締め《帯が緩ければ気も心も締まら》
《ないものである》裾をはさみ上げ、足袋をはき《皮足袋は火に》
