一 火事（くわじ）の節（せつ）老人（らうにん）妻子（さいし）の除（のき）所かねて風
に応（おふ）じゆき所を定置（さだめをく）へしさもなけれは所
をたづねまよひて難義（なんぎ）にあふ物なりさて
立（たち）のく主人（しゆじん）は鑓（やり）妻（さい）は長刀（なきなた）あるひは木太刀（きだち）
或（あるい）は棒（ぼう）きれもつくべし女（おんな）たりとも腰（こし）の物（もの）は
さしてよがんもちろん持（もち）のくものはまづは
大切（たいせつ）なる物｜御朱印（ごしゆゐん）御黒印（おんこくゐん）又は文書（ぶんしよ）記（き）
録（ろく）感状（かんじやう）証文（しやうもん）さては金銀（きん〴〵）等（とう）まて袋に

一 火事の節（せつ）はたしく人はもし家（いゑ）に火
うつりて其場（そのば）に居（ゐ）かねてのく時（とき）平生（つねに）心（こゝろ）
現代語訳
一 火事の際は、老人や妻子の避難場所をあらかじめ風向きに応じて決めておくべきである。そうしなければ、避難場所を探し回って困ることになる。避難する際、主人は槍を、妻は薙刀あるいは木太刀または棒切れを持つべきである。女性であっても腰の物（刀）は差していてよい。もちろん持ち出すものは、まずは大切な物、御朱印・御黒印または文書・記録・感状・証文、さらには金銀等まで袋に入れ、その紐が見えないように首に掛ける（袋の紐もよくより合わせて切れないようにする。悪心を持つ人が多いためである）。その他、着替えの小袖、食物、銭などを適度に持たせて避難すべきである。決して手ぶらで避難してはならない。人数が大勢いる場合は纏を立て、夜は家紋付きの提灯でよく一か所にまとまって避難すべきことである。
