中（なか）に入（いれ）るより早く。追々（をい〳〵）すみやかに腐爛（ふらん）【左ルビ：クサレタヽレ】して屎（くそ）と
なる。歯の脱（ぬけ）し人などは。噛（かま）ずして鵜呑（うのみ）にすれど腐（ふ）【左ルビ：クサレ】

たすくるの理（ことは）りかぎりなし。凡（すべて）米穀（べいこく）菜蔬（さいそ）の類。鍋（なべ）
釜（かま）をもて数刻（すこく）烹（にる）とも屎（くそ）のことくには化（くわ）せず。人々
己（おのれ）が腹中のことなれど。誰（たれ）ありて此理を知るものなし。

薬を飲まずして全快するのもしばしば多い。すでに辺鄙な田舎には妊婦の五月帯を結ばず、助産婦のいない里もあるけれど、かえって難産の心配がない。また昔戦場では刀傷に医者を待たずして、お互いに治療をしたということである。西洋の人もこれに似ている。あの国の人は、それぞれ各々が医術の心得があって、身体を養い治療もする。みだりに医者に委ねないということだ。西洋のことは末尾に記す。
○人の全身は奇妙不思議なものである。この体中に飲食を受ける胃の府というものがある。人は常に食物を納めて元気を養い、命をつなぐ生養の基本である。その食物が腹の中に入るとすぐに、次第に速やかに腐敗して糞となる。歯の抜けた人などは、噛まずして丸呑みにするけれど腐敗することもまた同じである。人身の大きな仕組み、天地が人を助ける理は限りない。すべて米穀や野菜の類を、鍋釜で数時間煮ても糞のようには変化しない。人々は自分の腹中のことであるのに、誰もこの理を知る者はいない。

There are often many cases of complete recovery without taking medicine. Already in remote countryside areas, pregnant women do not tie the fifth-month belt, and there are villages without midwives, yet conversely there are no worries about difficult births. Also, in ancient battlefields, sword wounds were treated without waiting for doctors, with people treating each other. Western people are similar to this. The people of those countries each have knowledge of medical arts, nurture their bodies and provide treatment themselves. They do not carelessly entrust themselves to doctors, it is said. Western matters are recorded at the end.
○The human body is a wondrous and mysterious thing. Within this body there is what is called the stomach, which receives food and drink. People constantly take in food to nurture their vital energy and sustain life—this is the foundation of nourishment. As soon as that food enters the belly, it gradually and quickly putrefies and becomes excrement. Even people who have lost their teeth and swallow without chewing still experience the same putrefaction. The great mechanism of the human body and the principle by which heaven and earth assist people is limitless. Even when all kinds of grains and vegetables are boiled in pots and kettles for several hours, they do not transform as they do into excrement. Though this concerns people's own bellies, no one knows this principle.
