宣（のたま）へり。医者はまつ己（おのれ）が身をよく保養し。疾病（やまひ）なく
して其天年をたもつことを知べし。我身（わがみ）我孫子（わがまここ）を捨（すて）
をきて。佗人（たにん）の病を療（れうぢ）するといふ理あるべからず。
○世中（よのなか）の盲人（もうしん）を見聞（みきゝ）するに。おほくは愚（おろか）にして目を
養ふことをしらぬゆへ。少しき目疾（めのやまひ）あれば。急速（きうそく）に目
薬（くすり）をあれやこれやと用ひ。反（かへつ）て是がために目をつぶ
せしがおほし。目は顔のうちの活物（いきもの）なり。目をつぶし
ては人の人たるのかひなし。仏（ほとけ）も眼（め）は六根（ろくこん）の最（さい）

たるにより。盲人（めしひ）は不具（かたわ）の中の第一の悪業（あくごあくごう）なりと説（とき）
給ふ。唐土（もろこし）の諺（ことわざ）に目￣ハ不＿レ医（イ）【左ルビ：レウジ】不＿レ瞎（カイセ）【左ルビ：ツブス】といへり。又東坡（とうば）の云。
眼￣ハ悪￣ミ＿二剔択（テキタク）￣ヲ【左ルビ：ナヅルアラフ】＿一。歯￣ハ便（ヨシトス）＿二漱潔（ソウケツ）￣ヲ【左ルビ：クチスヽキキレイニス】＿一。治￣ルハ＿レ眼￣ヲ如￣ク＿レ治￣ムルカ＿レ民￣ヲ。治￣ルハ＿レ歯￣ヲ如￣ス＿レ治￣ムルカ＿レ軍￣ヲ と。
此等の語を見て眼目（かんもく）の病に。みだりに洗薬（あらひくすり）さし薬
掛薬（かけくすり）むし薬 等（なと）を用ることなかれ。多くは損（そん）ありて益（ゑき）
なしつゝしむべし。晋王（しんのわう）武子（ぶし）。常に目病（めのやまひ）を患（うれ）ひ張湛（ちやうたん）に
其 方（くすり）を求む。湛が云。古哲【左ルビ：モノシリ】某々（それ〳〵）の数人（ひと〴〵）皆 目疾（めのやまひ）あり。
ともに六味治目方を得（もちひ）て愈（いゑ）たり

と述べている。医者はまず自分自身の体をよく保養し、病気もなく天寿を全うすることを知るべきである。自分の身や自分の孫・子を見捨てておいて、他人の病気を治療するという道理があるはずがない。
○世の中の盲人を見聞きするに、多くは愚かで目を養うことを知らないため、少しの目の病気があると、急いで目薬をあれこれと用い、かえってそのために目を潰してしまった者が多い。目は顔の中の生きているものである。目を潰しては人として生きる価値がない。仏も眼は六根の最も

重要なものであるから、盲人は身体障害の中でも第一の悪業であると説いておられる。中国のことわざに「目は医さず瞎せず（治療しなければ失明しない）」とある。また東坡が言うには、「眼は剔択（いじること）を嫌む。歯は漱潔（うがいして清潔にすること）を良しとする。眼を治すのは民を治めるようなもの、歯を治すのは軍を治めるようなものである」と。
これらの言葉を見て、眼目の病気にむやみに洗い薬、点眼薬、塗り薬、虫下し薬などを用いてはならない。多くは害があって益がない。慎むべきである。晋王武子は常に目の病気を患い、張湛にその薬を求めた。湛が言うには、「古の賢人某々の数人は皆目の病気があったが、共に六味治目方を用いて治った」と

Thus it is said. Doctors should first properly nurture their own bodies, remaining free from illness and knowing how to maintain their natural lifespan. There can be no logic in abandoning one's own body and one's own grandchildren and children while treating the illnesses of others.

important of the six sense organs, so blindness is the greatest misfortune among physical disabilities. A Chinese proverb says, "If you don't treat the eyes, they won't go blind." Also, Dongpo said: "The eyes dislike being tampered with. The teeth benefit from rinsing and cleaning. Treating the eyes is like governing the people; treating the teeth is like commanding an army."
Seeing these words, one must not carelessly use washing medicines, eye drops, ointments, vermifuge, and such for diseases of the eyes. Most often there is harm and no benefit. One should be cautious. Prince Wu of Jin constantly suffered from eye disease and sought medicine from Zhang Dan. Dan said, "Several ancient sages all had eye diseases, and they were all cured using the Six-Flavor Eye Treatment Formula."
