(Continuing the entry on mirin from the previous page)
Those that are ready after just seven days are commonly called "honnaoshi." For this reason, their flavor deteriorates quickly. Mirin (birin-shū), on the other hand, is made from the same ingredients but aged over a much longer period of days. For this reason, its flavor remains stable (keeps well).
Mizuame (starch syrup / malt sugar) - Jiāoyí
Sweet and greatly warm. Non-toxic. It moistens the lungs and stops coughing. ○ It neutralizes the poison of bushi (monkshood root) and uzu (aconite).
Mizuna (Japanese mustard greens), also called Kyōna - Shuǐcài (water vegetable)
Sweet and neutral. Non-toxic.
Mitsuba (Japanese parsley / honewort; Cryptotaenia japonica) - A variety of early-season seri (Japanese parsley)

Miru, also called mirukui (geoduck-like shellfish with seaweed; Tresus keenae / Codium fragile) - Shuǐsōng (water pine)
Sweet, salty, and cold. Non-toxic. It treats edema (swelling) and neutralizes alcohol poisoning.
Mikan (mandarin orange; Citrus unshiu) - Gān (citrus)
