琉球古（りうきういにしへ）の朝献（てうけん）
琉球（りうきう）は吾邦（わがくに）の南海（なんかい）にあるところの一（ひとつ）の島国（しまぐに）なり、其（その）
国（くに）の風俗（ふうぞく）もとより質朴（しつぼく）にして文字（もんじ）に習（なら）はず、これに
よりて国（くに）の名（な）は聞（きこ）えながら、開闢（かいひやく）より歴代（れきだい）の事実（じじつ）は、
史書（ししよ）などいふものもなければ、その詳（つまびらか）なることは得（え）て

Ancient Ryukyu's Court Presentations
Ryukyu is an island nation located in the southern seas of our country. The customs of that country were originally simple and rustic, and they were not familiar with writing. Therefore, although the name of the country was known, the historical facts from the creation of heaven and earth through successive dynasties cannot be examined in detail because there are no historical records. In Chinese writings, it first appears in the "Book of Sui." In the first year of the Taiye era of Emperor Yang, a naval commander named He Man, in spring and autumn...
