事を聞てあゆみとうする【動揺する】馬をもちてはしら
現代語訳
もりという人を付けて送り出した。持参して彼の唐にいる王慶に金を渡した。王慶は手紙を広げて見て返事を書く。「火鼠の皮衣は、この国にない物である。音には聞いているけれども、まだ見たことがない物である。世にある物ならば、この国にも持参してきたであろう。とても困難な商いである。しかしながら、もし天竺に、玉坂にも持ち渡るならば、もしかすると長者のあたりに尋ね回って求めよう。ない物ならば、使者に添えて金をお返し申し上げよう」と言った。かの唐土の船が帰ったと聞いた。小野のふさもりが参上して「参上する」ということを聞いて、動揺する馬を持って走った。

Ōkei unfolded the letter, read it, and wrote a reply: "The fire-rat's fur robe is something that does not exist in this country. I have heard of it by reputation, but it is something I have never seen. If it were something that existed in the world, I would have brought it to this country as well. It is an extremely difficult trade. However, if it exists in Tenjiku (India) or has been brought across to Tamasaka, perhaps I could inquire around wealthy merchants and seek it out. If it does not exist, I shall return the gold along with the messenger." It was heard that the Chinese ship had returned. When Ono no Fusamori heard that he was coming to report, he mounted his agitated horse and rode off.
