右之通御用番和泉守殿被 仰渡難有仕合御礼
申上直ニ引少々見合居公用人案内ニ而大勝手え
罷通り相応ニ挨拶申述候退散宜候時分公用人
申聞候筈ニ候
一 非番御打寄御老中方御退散有之候間退散候
而宜旨申聞候間直ニ罷出候
一 門前ニ長之助留守居扣居候間家督被 仰渡
相済候間早々罷帰可申達旨後刻罷越
候段申含候尤此方留守居出居候ニ付是え
も得と為申聞置候
但門前之儀ニ付先方留守居えは一寸
挨拶のミ此方之留守居え乗輿致候而
申聞候方都合宜候
一 廻勤之儀は一旦先方え罷越候而再度出候向
も有之区々ニ付兼而稲葉家えも打合置直ニ

以上の通り御用番の和泉守殿からお言い渡しがあり、ありがたい仕合わせとお礼を
申し上げ、すぐに退席し、少々様子を見ていると、公用人の案内で大勝手へ
参り、相応の挨拶を申し述べた。退散がよろしい時分に公用人が
申し聞かせる予定である。
一 非番のお集まりで御老中方がご退散になったので退散して
よろしいとの旨を申し聞かされたので、すぐに退出した。
一 門前に長之助の留守居が控えているので、家督相続がお言い渡し
済みになったので早々に帰って申し伝えるべき旨、後刻参上する
段を申し含めた。もっともこちらの留守居も出ているので、これにも
よく申し聞かせておいた。
ただし門前の件について、先方の留守居へは一言
挨拶のみで、こちらの留守居へは駕籠に乗って
申し聞かせる方が都合がよい。
一 廻勤の件は一旦先方へ参った後、再度出向く場合
もあり区々なので、かねて稲葉家へも打ち合わせておき、すぐに
廻勤し、それから和泉殿へお礼の件があるため廻り、
仕舞いに参ることにした。
一 それから西の丸の御老中・若年寄衆への廻勤で口上書を
左の通り玄関で申し置いた。
一 再び和泉殿へ参上し大勝手へ通り、公用人を呼び
出し左の通り請書を相渡した。

I immediately withdrew and waited a little while observing the situation. Then, guided by the public affairs official to the ōkatte,
I offered appropriate greetings. The public affairs official was scheduled to inform us
when it would be appropriate to depart.
1. Since the off-duty gathering of rōjū had dispersed, I was told
it would be proper to depart, so I immediately left.
1. Since Chōnosuke's rusuii was waiting at the gate, and the succession
had been announced and completed, I instructed him that he should return quickly to report this, and that he should visit again later.
Since our rusuii was also present,
I made sure to inform him as well.
However, regarding the matter at the gate, it would be more convenient
to offer only brief greetings to their rusuii, while traveling by palanquin
to inform our own rusuii.
